Best Rivalries
Paris and Frankfort. It’s an old rivalry. It’s a shame they don’t play every year. I’m calling out both coaches To sign 50 year contract.

Frankfort 2018
Frankfort in a good spot. They return 4 of 5 on the offensive line. They are still young up front and need to continue to develop that group. They will have more depth up front this year just lac experience. Big question will be running back. The are replacing 4 year starter at running back. Replacing Jones is biggest question on the roster. Team is good enough play for regional title if everything falls in place.

Ohio's New Transfer Rule
I think the kid you are talking about is the exception and not the rule. School athletics should be about kids getting to experience what they want. Instead it’s about coaches and schools winning.

Ohio's New Transfer Rule
Another rule that punishes kids. Because adults didn’t like it.

Dead Period...should it expand or end?
My suggestion is to make it longer. July 1st through July 31st. Start Practice August 1st and first game start September 1st.

Transfers - Why does it bother you?
So if kid only sits on bench for 4 years he should suck it up. Not try give himself a chance somewhere else? Only high school sports handcuff kids. Coaches can leave for better situations and they everyone is ok with that, but if a kid wants to go to better situation they must suck it up and make the best out of it..... make sense.

Transfers - Why does it bother you?
I also have issue with KHSAA - Parents and kids have no away to challenge the KHSAA to change their rules. Because only way rules are able to be brought forward is through a member school. My question is why cant the public come before the board of controls and seek change? Why isn't there parent representation on the board of controls? Its hard for parents to beat a system that is designed to only protect adults.

Transfers - Why does it bother you?
So my question to you is high school sports about Kids? Adults can change jobs, non-sports playing kids can travel from school to school with no penalty. If you have a kid that switches schools all the time then I say its up to the coach of those schools to decide if they want those type of kids playing on their teams. I think what you are speaking of is an exception and not the norm. Lets think about Logan Woodside. He left Anderson County because he wanted to play QB. Anderson County was a place that wouldn't allow that to occur (by the way not a knock on Coach Peach) He decides to transfer and had a change of address. His parents are divorced and had the ability to transfer. It worked out for him. Why should other kids not be able to transfer to live out a dream? But don't have the ability to do it "By the rules" Frankfort had a kid that transfer into them, that wanted to play QB. The parents attempted to go through the other school and seek their approval to allow the kid to transfer. For some reason the school didn't allow it. The kid was denied and had to sit out 5 games to meet "The Rule" The other school didn't want him. He wanted to Play QB. His parents could have rented an apartment and "Beat the rule" because they had the means. They didn't and the kid was punished because of ADULTS didn't think about the kid. Had he stayed at the other school he never would have played QB. Guess what this kid isn't going to the NFL or College for football. He one day will be a Heart surgeon. But because High School rules only protect Schools and Coaches this kid missed what few games he had left in his high school career. When we will start thinking about kids?

If a school voluntarily moves up in Class should you be able to transfer immediately?
I know that this isn't answering your question. But as someone who supports kids the ability to transfer for any reason they want I would say YES. But it will never happen because KHSAA rules are only designed for what is best for schools and coaches.

Open Job: Apollo
Has the job been filled? I’m hearing a name but don’t want to say because they currently have a job. Wouldn’t be fair to the kids to say if not true

Seeding for Semifinals
Bad idea. It punishes lower seed teams. If a lower seed team has already beaten two 2 seeds to get to the semi/final and is playing another team the same seed, how is it fair to make them play a higher seed. Part of the spirit of the playoffs survival and advance. KHSAA has bigger problems than the semi/finals of football. This could also create hug travel requirements

Wandale Robinson to Trinity??
Yes. I believe its up to the family to decide the road the kid wants to take. Now do I believe the kid would be very successful in transferring 4 times. No, but why should there be rules to stop it? They can do it at the college level. I think the number of kids transferring more than once during their time in high school would be very small. Yes there would be some. But not enough to make a difference.
-
Wandale Robinson to Trinity??
When I speak of transfer rule not benefiting kids. I believe that a kid shouldn't have to change their address to change schools. I think a kid should have a freedom to choose to play and go to school wherever they want as long as the school they want to transfer to will allow them in. No adult has to change address to change coaching jobs. So why should kids have to move to better themselves.
-
Wandale Robinson to Trinity??
Do you think the rules benefit kids and don't need change. Or do you think KHSAA should look at making changes to better benefit kids?

Transfers - Why does it bother you?
VOR generally I agree with you on a lot of issues. My question to you is why does it have to be tough? We can’t kids have freedom to do what’s best for them. Give you example- Logan Woodside recently completed a great careeer at Toledo. He was at a high school and was told he wouldn’t be given a shot to play QB. He didn’t want an adult to decide his faith. (Coaches) so he transferred to a school that needed a QB and went on to earn a D1 scholarship. Another example was Holt Hammons at Frankfort. Played at another school. Knew he wouldn’t get a shot at QB. Came to Frankfort and had to sit out first 6 games of his Junior season because he held an extra point in a blow out win. He was punished by the KHSAA because he played 1 play. How does these rules the KHSAA have in place benefit kids? They don’t - only protect schools. KHSAA could careless about kids.
