  1. Wow, congrats to Beechwood. Congratulations to the CCH seniors who played in 2 regional final games. To Isler, and Maile....go win state in baseball.
  2. Does anybody know if Maile has made the 1,000 point club...or if he has a shot? Seems to me he would be getting awfully close.
  3. This was Coach Ray's original choice 4 years ago. He is definitely in it for the long haul, and I think he will do a great job.
  4. As far as upcoming Juniors I would expect all of these guys to be major contributors, if not starters: Offense Schaeffer, Timmerman, Connelly,Shumate, Walsburger, Rosado, Wendling,Torbeck, Kathman, Kuderer Defense Schaeffer, Timmerman, Walsburger, Jones, Templeton, Connelly, Shumate, Hebling, Nienabler, Cosby Many sophs will play a lot too.
  5. I expect the majority of the starters to be underclassman.
  6. I might have overemphasized the result. I heard a 19 point game so my bad.
  7. God, when was the last time HC beat CCH?? This used to be a rivalry in the mid-90's. I'd say if HC is ever going to beat CCH it would have to be this year.
  8. Loads of talent in sophomore and freshman classes. Definitely will be a program competing for a state title in 2 years.
  9. Glad to here Coach Ray has agreed to run the CovCath Football winter program until a new coach is in place.
  10. Is this the biggest win in Beechwood history? I'm not sure if they have ever beaten CovCath...if so it has been at least 25+ years. I know CCH is down this year and obviously not full strength but kudos to the Beechwood kids.
  11. No, I know he was BigEast Player of the Year when he left a year early out of Villanova. He got his 3 year guaranteed contract because he was a 1st round pick. He played for Philly for awhile but then went to Turkey and various other places before he hung it up this year. He has kids 3 kids now.
  12. Has Beechwood ever beaten CovCath? If not, this is the time and year to do it.
  13. He just finished up playing overseas for a few years. He is married to a NDA grad, and they have recently moved here.
  14. Just heard this myself. I wonder if Mike Wolfe now actually gets his chance.
  15. I say Highlands by 10 as well. CCH has won something like 10 out of the last 14 in this matchup, and I fully expect them to be ready by tourney time but at this point I am not sure CCH is a top 10 team in the region.
  16. Now this is actually funny. Like I said CCH did win the region the 1 time they beat HHS in the semi's, and lost to HHS the other 2 teams. As far as it being meaninginless...how? There is nothing worst then your career ending to your bitter rival, and HHS seniors have had to deal with that 3 straight years. Their last HS game will be remembered as a loss to CCH...that is pretty tough to swallow. HHS had a nice stretch against CCH during the Lorenzen/Smith Era ( 3 years) and that is it. From like 91-96' I think CCH was something like 8-0 against the Birds. Then when Smith and Lorenzen left, CCH went like 6-2 against them over the next the next 6 years. And then the last 3 years, CCH has eliminated them and ended many seniors careers. CCH owns this rivalry.
  17. Actually the one game you mentioned with Vories, CCH went on to make it to Rupp that year. As far as last year's regular season victory, I would still take CCH's postseason victory any day over that. I would rather force my rival to turn their uniforms in, than have it done to me. Highlands does it to CCH in football, CCH does it to Highlands in basketball.
  18. Enjoy those regular season victories brother. :thumb: CCH has ended your Birds season 3 straight years. I think we will take that over meaningless January games!
  19. CCH 5 of 23 from 3 ball land. You have to think that is not going to happen very often.
  20. CCH was down by only 3 with less than a minute to play, but self-destructed a bit. Wow, lots of people were predicting blowouts. CCH is only going to get better.
