Listen, everyone wants to say what is wrong with CovCath? The truth is, the talent is down! When Rodenberg was coach, they had 2 of the most talented teams in CCH history, and 2006 may have been the most talented of all time. Watching the game tonight, it was obvious they were a step slower than Beechwood. How can anybody blame that on the coaches? If Rodenberg was the coach they would be 3-3 as well. In a couple of years they are going to be the CovCath of old, only this time they will be able to sustain it. Brossart is the 1st coach to finally get the pee-wee CCH team going and that is only going to help. Plus, they are loaded in the soph and frosh classes.

NKY Freshman East/West Standings?

CovCath beat NCC 47-6 -
Come on CCH, lets make it 5 years in a row over Beechwood.
-
What CCH is known for?? CCH is THE pre-dominant athletic program in all of NKY...that is what they are known for. In terms of football they are still consistently one of the top 3-4 teams in the area year in and out. The fact that they have a loyal fan base who can be somewhat creative certainly does not trump what they do on the field. It may draw extra attention, but if they weren't a top-level sports school you wouldn't hear a peep around the state about them.

Highlands vs. Covington Catholic - Predictions

As a CovCath former who liked to mix it up a lot, I am wishing I could get out there. But I have faith CCH's team will be ready. There is no doubt they are a huge underdog, but I hope they all play like they think it is their last game. That being said, HHS 45, CCH 20. -
WOW...are these long drives or quick scores. Have TO's played a role? Either way, pretty darn impressive.

Hands-down, the most laughable statement I have ever read on here. While I agree, this is not a dominant CCH team, and Scott could provide them a good game, to state that things might get ugly for CCH is beyond words to describe. Thanks for the comic relief.

Who else besides Diamond Dandy is picking Scott?

Not sure, seems to me they ran the ball a lot. Deters had a big game. -

I have never in my lifetime see a CCH defense this subpar. I hope it is fixable, but if not CCH will have to score 75 to beat Highlands this year -

WOW...don't recall a CCH defense being pushed around the way this one is this year. -
Sounds like these 2 frosh teams are about even like last year when HHS won in OT. Should be some great varsity games in the upcoming years.

Closer than I thought it would be.

CCH rolled up 475+ yards of offense....mostly in 2nd half. Isler was 19-28 for like 340 according to the radio. The drive before halftime was the most important drive of the CCH season. Once they got confidence, they scored 5 TDs on NCC's D in the 2nd half. I agree with the poster above who said this saved the CCH season. Not necessarily if they would have lost, but how they were losing 20-0 with what looked like a slaughter in the 1st half. Coach Brossart said on the radio it was the greatest game he has ever been a part of. -

Huge win and comeback for the Colonels! Brossart must have gave the Colonels a dose of the smelling salt at halftime! For those of you who predicted 2 wins for the Colonels, they only have 1 more to go! -

Not used to scoring TDs I guess. -
Why? CCH likes to throw the ball too.

People said that last year, and they ended up winning 5 including beating Beechwood.

Can't believe this really may happen, but I think NCC beats CCH for the 2nd consecutive year.

Agreed these are once in a lifetime oppts, you need to make a better showing. I think Highlands will be fine in getting invited back because like you said, they more than impressed last year. CCH has shown they can compete with the big-time schools over there when they have their best teams. They missed a last second fieldgoal at the Pit that would have beaten Elder, and gave St. X a dog fight 2 years in a row. However, this is not (at least at the moment) one of CCH's better teams. -

Just another example of how much better Ohio football is. This may be the worst CCH beating of all time. -

With the long bus trip, and with Mooney already testing itself against one of the titans in Ohio, it will be tough. I hope CCH plays well and comes away with no injuries.
