They played St. X tough at the beginning of last year before they started the rest of their lay-up line of games. They once they played somebody of substance come playoff time, the game was over by halftime.
Is Bowling Green any better than they have been the last couple years? They were obviously overhyped the last couple of years based on them hammering the weak teams on their schedule, and then once they played a good team, they got beat around like a pinyatta. I don't see this year as any different.
Not really surprised at all. CCH was simple overmatched by the Birds this year.
Buckley, Furnish and the seniors have nothing to hang their heads about, they will always have that state ring.
Regardless if Highlands goes undefeated....can this team really be considered one of the best HHS teams ever? Just looking back recently, I would take the 04' team with that incredible defense over this team any day.
My point is your modest 2 and 3 year winning streaks against CCH in baseball and basketball in the mid 90's really don't compare to the way CCH has one-sided those series this decade.
Back to football, I expect the Birds to win by 14-17.
Never happened. HHS had a wild 2 year run in baseball over CCH in 96 and 97. They overlapped that with a even wilder 3 year run in basketball from 97-99. It was 50/50 in football until the 98' season when HHS started to take control of the series in the 90's. As far as the other sports.....not a chance.
Nothing like the SEC venues. The one caveat for the SEC venues is you definitely have to pay big boy money to get a ticket to the higher profile games. At all the big 10 venues I have been to, tickets were face value or just a tad higher. At every SEC venue I have been too, tickets are 4-6x face value. I guess you get what you pay for.
