Have you heard about how Campbell County is expected to do this year? Are people expecting a close game with HHS?

Guru, have you been to see any of the HHS practices or 7on7s? If so, I'm curious to hear your insights on how you think they look this year.

I think it's expecting a lot for Smith to step back in to the high school game and pick up where he left off 9 or 10 years ago. If that is the expectation of the BC fans...

I'm curious to know why the writer said that HHS would lose the season opener to Campbell County? Did he base that off the 7on7 he watched?

Can someone post the list of all the current HHS assistant football coaches, and what they coach? Who is the freshman head coach going to be? Also, is there a Highlands football roster available?

With regard to the coaching situation, no one is going to doubt how great a coach Chuck Smith is. However, I believe the last time he was the head coach of a high school team was in 2004, which is 10 years ago. I don't think he was on the Boyle County sideline doing any kind of coaching in the recent past. It's true that this is Brian Weinrich's first year as a head football coach at the high school level, but he has been on the HHS sideline every year for as long as the current HHS players have been alive (he joined the HHS coaching staff in 1995). I'd venture to say that his transition to the head coaching position at HHS will be smoother than Smith's transition back to the high school game. Boyle County may or may not have advantages over Highlands in 2014, but I'd be surprised if coaching is one of them.

So, has the kid or his family said publicly why he has transferred to CCH? And what is the rule about court injunctions? If a judge grants an injunction to play, is that the final word?

So, are there any Highlands players participating?

Does the matter of whether Boone County does or does not want this kid to be able to play sports at CCH figure into the KHSAA decision at all?

I pity the poor chap who happens to follow Coach K...

Some people have mentioned SC playing Highlands. What year is this supposed to happen?

Can anybody post the names of some players who look to start on the defensive side of the ball this year? Also, are there any rising sophomores or transfers who figure to get varsity playing time?

So, is HHS schedule officially set for 2014? If so, could someone post it? Also, it seems to me that there has been less chatter about the upcoming Highlands football season than I can remember on BGP. Why are the HHS faithful so quiet this offseason?

In college basketball, UK is the king when looking at the totality of the program and what the program can boast on its resume.

Have the frosh already officially signed, or could they still back out and go elsewhere?

But, to play devil's advocate, if this were to happen wouldn't it just lead to Cal/UK no longer being able to get the elite recruits... the players who want to be one and done? Wouldn't they go to KU or Duke or wherever they could go and start right away?

I'm just trying to figure out who Billy is...

Actually, for me the concern about Lee was that he would transfer, not go pro. I hope this info is true and that he will be with UK next season.

Interestingly, both Highlands and the Hawaii team lost in their respective playoffs in 2013. I know it's never good to dwell on the past, but if that 4th down pass thrown by the Collins back-up QB in the waning seconds of the 4A title game had been incomplete, HHS would be sitting alone and in first place in the country in consecutive state title wins, as well has being one up on Trinity for most overall football titles in KY. Oh well... win some lose some!!!
