You know, I actually had to go to the KHSAA website to look at RH’s wins and losses… really, I just don’t have that stuff memorized. IMO, it would be silly to suggest that RH has lost to a bunch of cupcakes. In every loss, RH was in the game well into the third or fourth quarter. It’s not like they couldn’t play with any of the teams that ultimately won. If winning ballgames were easy, or simple, everyone would do it. :lol: The bottom line is I have faith in some very good kids, who also happen to be pretty decent ballplayers. They are growing and learning and are going to finish this season just fine. It’s a game, let ‘em play, enjoy it. It’ll all be over too soon anyway, and they’ll be telling their wives and kids they really were pretty good back in the day. :lol: If I'm still around, I'll agree with them. :thumb:

They are playing a lot tougher schedule than they have ever played with the possible exception of 2002-2003, and they're working on things that will hopefully make them a better team in March. We'll just have to see if it pays off. They started three sophomores, a senior and a freshman at LCA... I think they have a lot of room (and time) to improve... :lol: Plus, everywhere they go outside of the 16th Region, TV crews, newspapers, etc. are there to record Euton and Jackson. I realize a seasoned veteran such as yourself is used to a media circus, but it's an adjustment for 16 year-old kids. Give 'em a chance... they'll be just fine. :thumb:

Don't take this the wrong way, I am genuinely sorry your son is only watching for now, but I'm kinda relieved he wasn't on the floor Friday night, it could have been really ugly for the Hill. :lol: I pray your son has a speedy and complete recovery. He's a quality player, and deserves to finish this season on a high note. :thumb:

AMEN... that's more like it. :thumb: Not only that, but a lot of parents would love to have a kid just like him. I know I'd adopt him in a heartbeat... even if I do have to buy the groceries... :lol:

I've cut back my posting considerably since the start of the season. It has nothing to do with wins or losses, and everything to do with being tired of dealing with people who enjoy criticizing 16 year-old kids trying to have fun playing a game they love. 20 or 30 years from now, points-per-game and rebounds will pale by comparison to the quality of character being built in these young men today. From top to bottom, the boys on the basketball teams at both Rose Hill and LCA are some of the finest young men it is my priviledge to know. I know great kids at all the schools in the 16th Region and find myself rooting for them... even when we play their team. LCA has a terrific team that is improving. They will surprise some opponents this season. The LCA event is one of the finest showcase events Rose Hill has ever been a part of, and everyone involved appreciates the staff and parents at LCA for inviting Rose Hill and displaying such genuine Christian hospitality. :thumb:

Chase Jackson is a senior this year. He had knee surgery last season, that somewhat impaired his ability to play at the level everyone fully believed he was capable of playing. He had surgery on his other knee prior to the start of this season, and was not able to get it rehabbed in time for this season. Chase is 6' 9' and about 230. He is long, strong and has a ton of potential. Unfortunately for him and the RH team, he is not able to apply in on the court at this time.

Good win for Ashland. I picked Rex and the boys. I was wrong. I am very sorry to hear this about Bowling. He is a terrific kid from a true basketball family. I wish him the very best, and a speedy recovery. :thumb:

I don't see how Russell will have a solution for Selby in the paint. Boyd by 10+

Bath County played a terrific game. RH had lots of open looks, and just didn't convert. If RH had converted their average shooting percentage it would have made a 30 point difference in the game. No excuses, just the facts. Hats off to Bath County, the Wildcats flat out earned the win. :thumb:

RH won 89 - 36. No detailed stats to speak of. This one was over early. Euton and Jackson did not play over two quarters and finished with 16p/8r and 17p/10r respectively. RH went deep early, finishing the game with the 11-16 rotation on the floor the entire 4th quarter.

Unofficially, I think Euton had somewhere around 32, and Jackson 20. Not sure about Selby, probably in the neighborhood of 20 or 22. RH went about 10 deep, gave everyone good minutes and got good minutes from them in return. Good game.

I'm not here to boost one kid or tear another down. I rooted for both of them individually regardless of the team they played for. They were/are both tremendous talents... and IMO good kids. I'm simply pointing out a strong bias based upon the name on their jerseys. You're not really going to argue that are you?

If Mayo had played at Ashland, Boyd Co or Fairview, this wouldn't even be a debate. To consider that the kid did it as a 7th and 8th grader is mind boggling.

Elliott will have a difficult time stopping Selby once he gets the ball in the paint. The question is, "Can Boyd consistently get the ball to Selby in the paint?" Can Boyd break the Piranha Press? It's difficult to score from the far end of the court. IMO it would be huge for BC to keep it under 20 vs EC. Good luck to both teams. :thumb:

Good of you to make the retraction. A lot of folks would have thought the same thing if they didn't know the story behind the wardrobe. :thumb: For the record, the Rose Hill staff typically wears coats and ties to varsity games. These shirts were to support the Marshall Co. coach's son, and were $15 each. Rose Hill bought the shirts and broke standard dress code to show their support for Gunner. :thumb:
