  1. Elliott Co is like swimming in a pond full of Piranhas...
  2. With 132 on the board, I figured the waterboy was in double figures...
  3. Who scored 50 for Elliott? Anybody have some stats?
  4. Elliott by 30+ unless GC tries to run with them... which they will, and it will be worse.
  5. "The Selby"   6' 4" 295... the boy is a load. I've said it before, I'll say it again... he doesn't need a two-digit number on his jersey, he needs a license plate. He doesn't charge, it's more like a hit-and-run. With Selby on the floor, how does BC surprise anybody? Good kid. :thumb:
  6. Elliott County fans ought to be happy with this year's preview. Jonathan Ferguson on the cover (twice), Eef on the cover, team ranked #1 in the region, four players ranked in the top 10, six action shots from Rupp (three in color), a centerspread feature. If all the previously mentioned reasons for not subscribing are legitimate, subscriptions in Sandy Hook should go through the roof...
  7. My guess is the ADI wants to sell some newspapers today for those wanting to get the first look at the preview, and then will follow up by posting it online after today's issue is off the racks. That's what I would do anyway... :thumb: They've actually left the preview online for several months in previous years.
  8. You're a BIG boy, you're on your own if that's what you want... :sssh:
  9. Okay... I love a firey discussion, but I'll have to surrender my Moderator's License if I don't say something here. Let's knock off the personal stuff and discuss something reasonably close to the thread topic or I can assure you this puppy will be closed... and not necessarily by me. :thumb:
  10. I'd say your avatar just scared 'em off...
  11. This thread??????? It's in every 16th Region thread, and no school is untainted by it. Maybe if we could stand up and beat some decent teams outside of the region more consistently, we could quit spitting venom at each other... (...yeah, right... )
  12. No disrespect to the Cougars, but I really have a hard time seeing them stay within 20 of the Lions at this point in the season. The Cougars had better be able to break a tenacious press and control the ball or it could get ugly fast, not to mention being a very long night for them.
  13. Although not at total capacity, the Sheldon Clark Gym was awfully full for a series of preseason scrimmages from about noon until the Mason/UHA game at 7:30. At six bucks a pop, and active concession sales, I'd say the folks in Martin County made out pretty well. WYMT TV 57 was on hand to cover the event featuring potential Mr. Basketball candidates, as well as a number of D1 commitments and recruits. They even had a guy hit a shot from half court to win $5,000. The Sheldon Clark folks couldn't have treated visiting teams and coaches any better. They had an outstanding hospitality suite, fed players, coaches, team managers, media... it was a great event. Not exactly a secret scrimmage... I guess they don't promote it statewide because they have a strong local turnout, and don't figure too many folks are going to drive to Inez unless their team is playing there.
  14. RH over Sheldon Clark by around 30. 10 players for the Hill saw action. Euton and Jackson logged their standard double/doubles. Good assistance from seven other Royals. Mason was up 42-29 over University Heights at the half. Considering the Rose Hill / Mason County scrimmage Wednesday was 39-34 at the half, it doesn't seem that RH did so bad afterall. Darius Miller was much more a force for Mason than Hopson was for UHA. The folks at Sheldon Clark know how to throw a hoops party. :thumb:
  15. Sheldon Clark and Rose Hill play at 6pm, Mason and UHA after that.
  16. You could, but I guarantee it wouldn't be half as dramatic as any 16th Region basketball thread on BGP...
  17. Not a chance. If that ever happens, I'll be standing on my rooftop looking for Jesus returning in the clouds.
  18. I'm the first to admit that any team proves its merits on the court, not on paper... but I do think its funny how a source with no particular dog in the hunt offers an unbiased shapshot and the emotions fire up. I like the poll, and certainly hope that's how the season plays out, but something tells me the boys in Elliott aren't gonna roll over just because the CJ said so. Buckle up... this is gonna be a wild ride. :thumb:
  19. Man... when you dispense justice, you don't muck around.

  21. I love the Chiclets idea... but now he needs a carrot... ...in more ways than one...
