  1. I’ll take the Purples in dramatic fashion. 23-21
  2. Yeah, heck of a run for the Rocks.
  3. That is just unbelievably impressive, and something that will probably not be matched again. A lot of work with some luck sprinkled in.
  4. Swinney is the difference for this Male team. Just takes so much pressure of their passing game.
  5. I see this game very similar to the one earlier in the year; offensive struggle. Ballard has the speed on the back end to lock up the Male WRs. Ballard’s 4 guys in the secondary won the the state 4x100 last year. Heard that on @ChiefSmoke podcast! Male’s defense is fine, but there are definitely some chinks in the armor. Ballard - 17 Male - 10
  6. Male looking to continue their revenge tour next week.
  7. Congratulations to the players and staff at Bryan Station. Wins like these are special.
  8. Swinney is the difference for this Male offense. If he gets going he opens up everything else for the offense.
  9. I thought each team did what they had planned on. Male needed Swinney to get going and he did. St. X needed to establish and lean on their run game, and they did. Clean game too, few penalties and no turnovers. I’d be interested to see the final 2 pt play just to see how close it was. On the live stream there wasn’t a great angle but looked pretty well defended. Dang, just a tough way to go out for such a great group of seniors.
  10. Tough way to end the season for the Tigers. Took some punches all night and kept responding. Unfortunately, couldn’t make the stop on the 2 pt. conversion trick play. Great season by the Tigers, just not the finish they had hoped for.
  11. Let’s see if X can come up big with the defense.
  12. I think this has been a question many Trinity faithful have had all season.
  13. At some point X will have to take a shot with how well they’ve been running the football. Also, there’s nothing more demoralizing to a defense when an offense can still run the football with a loaded box.
  14. Great response by the Tigers to close out the half tied.
  15. Football Friday 2nd round playoff edition! The write up in the Courier this morning discussed Carter and Panariello leading the way, importance of the return of Max Gainey, and Male will use both QBs. Go Tigers!
  16. Will weather be much of a factor come kickoff time tomorrow?
  17. Unless it's on TikTok or Instagram the players aren't seeing it.
  18. It's Male. It's the playoffs. Each day we get closer I get a bit more excited and nervous. A game I thought would be later in the playoffs, but here we are. Male has pieces to win and advance, but Male just hasn't been able to get all those pieces on the field at the same time working together. But they do have most of their pieces back now for this matchup, so anything could happen. But I think this X team has been on a mission, especially on the defensive side of the ball to prove they're a dominate force and embrace new competition and challenges each week. This X offense seems to be figuring out their identity and improving each week, which is a great thing for an offense has playoff season has begun. X has the advantage in the line of scrimmage and that's where games are won. The X front 7 will be able to keep Swinney in check and find ways to put pressure on the Male QB to make him feel uncomfortable in the pocket. X will continue to lean on their OL in the run game on offense, and I see them using timely play-action to get behind the Male secondary. This will be a typical slugfest between two top teams, and I see the Tigers moving on to the 3rd round. St. X - 17 Male - 7
  19. PRP was able to find some running lanes, especially in the first half. Shots in the passing game will be there but obviously not something the St. X offense will live on. Pound the ball like they did in the first matchup and be able to find big opportunities with play action pass.
