  1. If I looked at schedules correctly I think the common opponents between the two teams are Bowling Green and McCracken Co. St. X beat both teams while Christian Co. struggled against both. If St. X continues their focused play like they did in the regional tournament they should take care of business. Go Tigers!
  2. Didn't see this score coming, but when the Tigers have been dialed in this season they've been close to unbeatable. Good luck the rest of the way!
  3. I guess my question would be what does Valley get out of playing Manual? There has to be another JCPS school that would be a bit more comparable to Manual than Valley. But maybe Valley has a good team coming up, I'm not really sure what Valley has.
  4. Yeah, that's not a good game for either team. Do the schools get to schedule their own JCPS games or is that set up by the county AD?
  5. Looking at UT game in the SEC tournament and this game, Cal's "college players" played nervous and couldn't rise to the occasion. His star played like a star. Tyty pressed like an inconsistent freshman player. Big time players don't let the bright lights intimidate them, Wheeler, Grady, Tyty, and Brooks let the bright lights of the moment get to them. Oscar was ready for the stage he just couldn't carry the whole team, tried his best but at some point the others have to do their part.
  6. I'm 35 years old and this is the most embarrassing loss of my lifetime. 2015 Wisconsin loss was the angry I've been, but I'll take anger over embarrassing. I still want Cal to be the coach, but it's time for him to stop being cute. No more "tweaks", "Basketball Benny's", or "I haven't seen him" comments because those things are only causing fans to become more and more frustrated by him and the past two seasons have ended with pure embarrassment. The inability to have scholarship guys on the bench who he refuses to play is what has bothered me the most. There is absolutely no reason to have 5 or 6 scholarship players who can't go into a game for a few minutes and give you something. Find their niche and allow them to develop that niche during the course of games.
  7. This is a great matchup, just unfortunate it's in the opening round. I'll take Male, 72-65.
  8. The fact that Male went 3-0 against Ballard this year is very impressive.
  9. I like they changed the intentional grounding rule. Basically, so it allows me to have to explain the rule fewer times during a high school game.
  10. Watched a little bit of the 3rd quarter online. Ballard just too much and Ballard turned up the pressure and turned the Tigers over which led to easy baskets for Ballard.
  11. Is the actual drawing broadcast? Or do they do it privately and then release bracket?
  12. What EdjVarsity is doing has become very intriguing to me. It seems like one of those tools that I'd want to take advantage of.
  13. Seems like a solid hire. If he can hire a solid OC to diversify that side of the ball then Manual becomes much more of a threat to Male and St. X.
  14. The Tampa media members are being just as firm in their stance that Brady hasn't decided as ESPN is in theirs that he is retiring. This will be interesting to see how it officially unfolds.
  15. I was ready for the Bucs to win in overtime, and then it all came crashing down. Postgame comments suggested there was some miscommunication on the Bucs' defense on the last defensive play. Not sure exactly what that entails, but tough for the Bucs to come all the way back and not be able to finish the complete come from behind win.
  16. Male vs. Cov. Cath, what a great game that should be.
  17. St. X was able to keep it interesting with some good 3pt shooting. There were times when they would cut it to 5 or 4 points then have multiple turnovers and Male was able to increase their lead. Kaleb Gleen is physically and athletically better than everyone on the court but there are times where he seems to disappear, which is when St. X was able to make runs. When he decided to take over there wasn't anything anyone was going to be able to do to stop him. Overall, this could have gotten out of hand, but X kept fighting and chipping away and made Male stay engaged and make plays to put them away.
  18. Reading the updates on Twitter, it seemed that whenever St. X had a bit of a run Trinity was always able to respond with a run of their own.
  19. Tough loss, but a very gutsy performance by UK. Playing without their starting PG and then their backup PG is out for roughly half of the second half of the game, they found a way to keep it close with a chance to win. This game comes down more to what UK didn't do. They were up by 9 then go 11 minutes with only scoring 2 points, that can't happen on the road and expect to win. Grady was hot to open the second half but then kind of disappeared the last 10 minutes, which is probably directly connected to Mintz running point instead of Wheeler or Washington. Losing to a top 25 team isn't a bad loss, especially in early January but man I hate that it was a loss to Will Wade, what a dork! I mean who zips their 1/4 pullover all the way up? That's what annoys me about the loss, it's that it was to a Will Wade coached team. UK will be ok, they fought and had an opportunity to win at the end. Onto Georgia.
  20. Just looking at scores it seems both teams are pretty equal. I think it'll be a close game just like years games where I think they played 3 or 4 times. I'll take St. X 58 - 52.
  21. I liked when they played at Bellarmine; it was always a great environment. I think my senior year was when they moved it to Freedom Hall. Didn't like it as much at Freedom Hall.
