  1. I think the score will indicate a closer game than the play on the field. Just think overall St. X is the better team and if Trinity has to go deep into their depth chart for a QB it could be a long night for the Rocks' offense. Anything can happen on a Friday night but I see a 28-10 win for the Tigers!
  2. I would also imagine the six sacks the Tigers gave up hurt that running total.
  3. I've seen a BG/Trinity game in 2010 where Trinity had to play their 3rd string QB and ended up winning 14-13 because they adjusted their scheme and let their RB (I believe it was Bishop) carry them to victory; so it has happened. Also, based off the things I've seen and read I don't know how it would be easy to assume Trinity wins this game by at least 2 TDs if Trinity has their starting QB. Are they probably better than Male, probably, but Male's defense isn't the necessarily the problem. But just an outsiders point of view.
  4. It seemed as X had some decent runs at times but just couldn't get anything consistent going on the ground. But moving forward, I think the Tigers will be ok in the run game.
  5. Watched the game on Hudl this morning while at the airport; fun, competitive game to watch. Both teams seem fairly even, but Elder was slightly better at the LOS and Elder's QB was able to take over especially when St. X went up 13-10 late in the 3rd quarter. When I saw in the update thread X was only able to get a FG out of that INT I just had a bad feeling, don't beat good teams with FGs. Tigers have to clean up on the pre snap penalties. Good game by both teams, now it's on to the next for the Tigers as the Rocks from St. Matthews await!
  6. Great drive to open the 2nd half. Don’t want the pre snap penalties but still a very good drive.
  7. I think this has all the makings of slugfest. Off week proves to be beneficial for the Tigers and they score a 4th quarter TD to take the lead and win... 21-17! Go Tigers. Roster question, is Tyler Boggs injured?
  8. Male has to find a way to create turnovers. Trinity has proven they can win "ugly" grind 'em games, Male hasn't. I don't know if Trinity uses the same placekicker and punter, but they are both weapons and Trinity has a big time advantage in the special teams department with those guys. If every thing is the same, I just think that Trinity's offense will be able to generate just enough offense to keep them on the field than the Male off will be able to do against the Trinity defense.
  9. I see this game a race to 17 pts. Whoever can get there first probably wins, both teams defenses are really good. Elder's defense doesn't seem to be as apt to give up the big play like they did last year so the Tiger offense will have to be methodical in their approach and take what the Panthers give them. But the first to 17 wins in my opinion.
  10. Computer projections like Elder. Massey Ratings... Elder 35 St. X 21 Cal Preps... Elder 31 St. X 17 If Elder scores that many then they're going to win for sure. But that's a lot to score against this St. X defense assuming it's all offensive scores.
  11. Off the clips I've seen of Elder they're very good at the LOS, but their skill positions seem to be a bit behind their big guys. Their offensive scheme reminds me of Male's, RPO with QB run game. Think X will be able scheme some things up in the passing game to help get their run game moving.
  12. Will be a tough matchup for the Purples. Just don't think they'll offense will be able score enough to win. I'll take Boyle 28-14.
  13. Male's defense will keep them within striking distance, but Trinity will be able pull this one out in the end. Trinity - 21 Male - 13
  14. As stated, it does look like Elder is better than last year, so it should be another slug fest between these to teams. Like most games, if X can limit turnovers they give themselves a good shot.
  15. I think Florida was under valued preseason, but I still don't think they're as good as their new ranking. Richardson is a good QB, but UK's best position is at LBer and they're good enough to run with Richardson to slow him down running the football. He's a decent passer, but think the current hype on Florida is a week 2 over reaction. Levis has to play really well, because of the lack of running game UK will probably have. Can't turn the ball over. But these games have been competitive over the last 5-6 years and I don't think that will change this year. Give me the UK 24-17 to knock off the Gators in The Swamp.
  16. Was able to watch the game on Hudl; it was a fun JV game to watch. A lot of big plays by both teams. Tigers took the lead in the 4th quarter and then Male was able to convert on a long 4th down play that they ended up scoring on and tying up the game. X offense took the ensuing kickoff and drove down the field in about 4 plays. Went for 2 but came up empty. Male gets another big play the next drive to score and makes the extra point to put them ahead for good. Lots of good offensive players on both sides; both defensives had flashes but struggled with consistency.
  17. I’ll take Trinity in a defensive struggle. Trinity - 17 LaSalle - 7
