  1. I didn't blame CovCath. But, the fact of the matter is their schedule hasn't been grueling to date. It becomes much more so Friday.
  2. Moeller is 2-2 on the year, having lost a shocker to Lakota West in week one, and then losing to a team from South Carolina last week. They're good, but not great.
  3. For starters, let's state the obvious; all the best athletes in the school play football and that trend isn't going away in the near future.
  4. CovCath definately has enough talent to beat Holmes, can't say they will, but they have enough talent. There's no way this Holmes team walks through Northern Ky., they won't even go unbeaten in NKY.
  5. My guess would be that posters think Highlands has the most talent, and CovCath has the second most.
  6. Where does Boyle fall in the new six class system? This answers the question of whether or not they are finished as a state title contender.
  7. As for the game, I agree with those of you who have noticed how good St. X's defense is. A lot of people have referred to X's close lost last week, without mentioning the week before they played the No. 8 team in the country and held them to one TD. This is certainly not the week CovCath's offense finds any answers. That said, the CovCath defense is very good as well. Good enough to keep this one respectable. St. X 28 CovCath 3
  8. Unless NCC gets to start the game with a 10-0 because they won state, I'm not sure how what they did last year affects this year at all.
  9. I'd look for a better defination of grueling. CovCath's opponents are 8-13 on the season. Their four in state opponents are a whopping 5-12.
  10. 1. Highlands 2. CovCath 3. Ryle 4. Beechwood 5. Boone county 6. Simon Kenton 7. Dixie 8. Holy Cross 9. Campbell County 10. Holmes
  11. Thanks for the help with De la Salle. Based on what I've gathered and seen from the Cincy schools, X's size wouldn't bother De La Salle much. Elder is plenty big and physical, and it didn't faze the California team. X's advantage over Elder is speed and athleticisim. And the fact they just have better players. That said, i can't imagine there's a team in the country that X and Colerain couldn't play with.
  12. Thank you for your information. I kind of thought De La Salle football had built a better team, you don't win 151 in a row by luck. Best of luck to all the teams that played this weekend. What a great event.
  13. You have no idea what you are talking about. Couldn't be more wrong about this if you tried to be.
  14. I agree the bye week should have gone if this really does push the state finals back to the second week of December. Is this a done deal, and if so, does that mean that two-a-days, etc. also start a week later?
  15. Can someone help me with this. Even De LaSalle's unbeaten run of what 150 or so games, how many major D-I players did they have. Can someone give me some names? Wildcat, Swamprat, or anyone else in the know, I've heard great things about both their speed year in and year out and their disicipline. Are they the fastest HS team you've seen, and are the best coached HS team you've seen? Thanks.
  16. Thanks, Swamprat.:thumb: Nation 5, Ohio 4 in the nine games. With Moeller losing by one to the second ranked team in the country and St. Xavier losing in overtime to the third ranked team. I'd say Ohio football came out of the weekend looking pretty good. BTW, is Colerain a machine or what? The scary thing is St. X might be even better.
  17. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I can't believe anyone thinks the move to six classes was good for any reason, other than to make some have-nots feel better about themselves.
  18. If you're coming in from out of town this one and are having trouble finding the school, just roll down your window. You'll hear a big boom at about 7:33, followed by another, then another. Follow the boom, it'll take you straight to the school. Highlands big.
  19. Is this the kid that rode the bench last year at Holy Cross?
  20. I'm going to take Holy Cross. One thing they've proven they can do is score, I'm not sure NewCath can match them.
  21. Yeah, the 90 team was absolutely loaded. Deepest team I've ever seen in NKY, I bet practices were a lot of fun. Unfortunately for them the 90 season produced what I think is one of the best teams of all time in the state in Fairdale. The 91 season did bring C. Pouncy, the Hayes brothers, Marshall, Brown, Eilers (I think) et al. back. But the heart of the team graduated. They never found a replacement for Hughes.
