  1. I'm not sure how far apart we are on this one. I'm not much of a fan of six classes at all.
  2. Not sure what difference the talent level makes? We're talking about basically the same amound of schools competing against one another. If they all got better, then fine. It's a numbers thing.
  3. Should we just give everyone a ring then? I'm giving them a chance from where I stand. If they lose in the first round, then they had their chance.
  4. What makes you think it would have made a difference. In the 31 years since the state went to four classes, less than one school a year has been added to mix. Essentially we have the same numbers now as we did in 1975.
  5. See, the problem here is you're not giving more kids a CHANCE. They all have a chance now. You are just GIVING kids. Big difference.
  6. My bad.:thumb: Ryle had a great run that post season. Warren Central was a tough first round team at the big show. But, you know this, never give up on a 2 on 1 break, it's the biggest advantage in basketball.
  7. Great athlete, and played a nice game. But he was a much bigger factor the following season. Ryle beat the WC press, but then pulled the ball back to half court. It led to some missed chances to score.
  8. Gotta second that thought. :thumb: Maybe one of us will get there someday, my guess is it will be you. I'm way too arogant.
  9. Not as much as you think you know, but still more than hs. Doellman's ability to see over the press and handle the ball were big factors in the region game. Ironically, the team's inability to handle a press was its downfall a few days later in the first round of the state tournament.
  10. So you know more than the NKY coaches who played against Ryle, scouted them, saw them on tape, and of course talked to other coaches about them. Man, did you miss your calling. Maybe you should look into coaching yourself. Start off at the AAU level, I'm sure with all your knowledge and ability to judge talent, you'd win a ton of championships.
  11. That was the NKY basketball coaches vote. Care to amend your post?
  12. If the local coaches voted in their NKY meeting, then it surely should have been to gain a strong unified voice heading into the KFCA meeting. Otherwise why bother to vote? If they took this 18-0 vote from a local meeting and then didn't do anything with it when it mattered, that's on them. They blew the two-minute drill on this one.
  13. The burden of proof falls on the player if the KHSAA rules him/her ineligble. Funny thing about this though, if the player takes it far enough, the KHSAA may then have to retake the burden.
  14. Perhaps Couch should have. How would that have worked out?
  15. Mayo and Walker are both having Q&A sessions Thursday at the ABCD camp. But I don't think either will give a public verbal during these sessions.
  16. What age group are the Lions, 15 or 16?
  17. No, it won't. They'll be a top 10 team, and probably win the district, though St. Henry will be in the same ballpark.
  18. You couldn't be more wrong from what the Holy Cross people tell me. They seem pretty happy with his development.
  19. Based on the teams they've played and the places they've played, I'd say that is a very good record. NKY is a small community, when you look at the areas some teams draw from. I never meant to dismiss these kids, but it's a big country when you go play the best of the best.:thumb:
  20. I'll agree with that. They have plenty of pitching and plenty of good players by NKY standards. How are they doing so far, record wise?
  21. He's proven that time and time again. Walt does a great job getting his players looks. After that, it's up to the players and most have done well. Midland may be another animal, when you can get guys from all over coaching gets much easier. I'll ask you this, are they clearly the best team in NKY? I'm pretty sure the answer will be yes, and rightfully so.
  22. I like the Colonels program of using NKY players. They get them to the next level, but at the end of the day there are a lot of good players to choose from if you have such resourses.
  23. Fair enough, and I'd have to agree it is more than likely true. Just giving a little input into a NKY top 10.
  24. I thought only the Redskins brought in guys from several states. Do the other teams as well?
