  1. This is the second game in a row people have said the opposing team Holmes played took bad shots and looked sloppy. HMMM...maybe it has something to do with good defense. Atleast 2 people can agree on that.
  2. What do all of you think? Obviously Scott Co is the favorite, but don't count Holmes out. They have been very impressive so far and IMO if they can force Scott Co to play at their tempo, which i'm sure they'll do, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them playing in the night cap. Holmes athleticism will force Scott Co's big men to get in foul trouble, just as South's did. I'll hold off on a prediction for now though.
  3. Perry and Mcclure will be a dynamic duo down low for them.
  4. Profitt played selfishly because he was getting frustrated from henderson's defensive pressure. I will say one thing though...Profitt is quick off the dribble and with that spin move, but when he has a good defender on him like Henderson, that isn't going to work. He was best today when he'd penetrate and kick it. (Which is why IMO Jefferson was the better PG today)
  5. I never said they beat the zone with their outside shooting. Jefferson would penetrate and someone would be wide open underneath from them collapsing on him. Holmes didn't need to take outside shots.
  6. Wow...only word I can think of.
  7. Henderson 7 Rice 23 Hill 20 Arnold 3 Jefferson 2 I think thats all correct
  8. For those of you who siad Holmes can't beat a zone, that was proven wrong today. Holmes moved the ball very well against SL's zone. SL got off to a quick start jumping out to an early 10-2 lead but Holmes responded well. 1) Henderson was all over Profitt and absolutely shut him down. SUre Profitt had 10 points but his first 2 came with 6:30 left in the 4th qtr and 5 of those points were free throws. 2) Hill and Rice absolutely dominated. Rice was too quick down low for any of the SL big men and caused them to get in foul trouble early. Hill was on tonight and did a great job both offensivelly and defensively. 3) Holmes athleticism wore down SL. At the end of every qtr and during free throws you could see Sl's players were sucking wind. It was a nice run for SL, but I guess Holmes speed was just too much. On a side note it was nice tos ee Hill and Profitt hug after the game. Great sportsmanship by both teams.
  9. Profitt was completely shut down today by Hendeson. 2 FG's.
  10. I guess poor shooting and athleticism win out...
  11. Nobody said South was a team to be taken lightly. Everyone knows they're good but Holmes just might be a little quicker andb more athletic and be able to expose South's weaknesses better than some other teams. But as far as the AAU statement goes, The kids from Holmes have made their name through AAU with the NKY TarHeels. EVERYONE knows about them. And their specialty was always going up against bigger teams and using their athleticism to expose their weakness: Tempo. Holmes will wear South's big men down. And I think Scott Co would have somethign to say about being the biggest and strongest team as well.
  12. Who does Tilghman lose? Their lack of maturity showed at times during the game but if they're back next year they should make some noise.
  13. Absolutely. Both teams were very physical down low and aroumd the rim contesting every shot
  14. The poor shooting was attributed to good defense my friend. But how many games have the current SL players actually played in since 2005?
  15. Poor shooting? Holmes played a much better defensive team than SL and I believe still scored more points than SL did. And how can you say Holmes has no experience when 4 of the 5 players who start played and started in the 05 tourney? If not for a person being asked to leave the team last year, this would be Holmes 3rd year in a row going. South will have no answer for Rice, Hill, or Henderson.
  16. This is the reason why I think we'll be seeing Holmes and Scott Co on one side of the bracket and Ballard against whoever in the other side. Tougher schedules do pay off at the end of the season.
  17. I think a lot of you guys aren't giving other teams in the tournament credit. Holmes, Ballard, and WC are all very good teams who could potentially knock Scott Co off.
  18. Holmes was here in 05 as well as sophomores starting. They are just as experienced. Only difference is SL went deeper with the 05 SENIORS. Also 4 of the 5 starters have played varsity since their freshman year and started since their soph. All have big game experience.
  19. Imo this will be a quick paced uptempo game. Both teams are very athletic and play good defense. The key to the game is how well Jones and Knowles play of GRC.
  20. Congrats to the 10th Region and GRC Cards. Sounds like it was a heck of a game. Good luck against Ballard.
  21. GRC up 9 with 3 minutes left and can't seal the deal They better get it together in OT
  22. WOW is the word that I think describes it. Sounds like it was an intense game?
