I trulely think that Clark Co. can contest with them, but it might be a pretty path to the finals for the Red Birds!

Don't forget about Holmes my friend. IMO if any team in that upper bracket is going to do it, it will be Holmes. Scott Co only beat them by 5 last year, AT Scott Co and that was without Greg Rice playing.

Anything can happen, and thats the beauty of Kentucky's Sweet 16. Its not the best show in high school sports for nothing, although you have to like Scott Co.'s chances. Should be a great way to finish up the week.

I think that Ballard or Warren Central have a chance.

I doubt any one will stop them. It seems that they have already committed to winning the whole thing. You can see it in them.

Clark County needs to worry about getting past Christian County. I predict a Scott County vs. Ballard in the championship and the cards by 10.

Have to agree with Catzrule.......Scott Co. is the closest thing to a cod-lock for the championship that I've seen in a long time.

Holmes may cause some problems and or could possibly pull it off.

I don't think any team could beat Scott County in a 5 games series. I have a lot of respect for the Scott Co program and I hope they win it all. What scares me is that the "cod locks" seldom win it all. Below are some examples.

 

1998- Lexington Catholic "double cod lock"- winner Scott Co

1999- Scott County "triple cod lock"- winner Ballard

2003- Lexington Catholic "cod lock"- winner Mason Co

2004- Mason Co and Lexington Catholic "co cod locks"- winner Warren Central

2005- The field was so weak no team had a cod lock.

 

When was the last "cod lock" team to win it all? I hope it will soon be 2007 but history and the extremely tough 2007 are against them.

If Holmes can get past SL, they may give them fits. Especially if their transition game is on. If Walls,Mackey and Portwood are playing well all at once, it will be tough to beat them though.

I also agree with everyone. I think Ballard and Holmes will be the only threats. But I got to watch Scott Co. Play mason at scott and they looked invincible.

I saw all three of the LexCath teams and joined the crowd of those who thought that they were a lock. They have had some super teams that just did not get it done.
