  1. Great win for Coach Highfield and the Panthers! If Ludlow beats the Grove, who wins D-3? Great job!
  2. Why do threads start out as predictions, and then end up with someone either getting bashed, taunted, baited, or just plain hammered. Scott over Camels by 4...in overtime.
  3. Sounds to me like Coach Carr is showing everyone that some things are more important than basketball. And no one person is bigger than the team. :thumb:
  4. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Hensley have good talent at Ludlow when he took over? I know he had to talk some kids into coming back out for the team, but those kids were also athletic. I know for a fact he had one of the best quarterbacks the school has had in recent memory, as well as experienced kids in other key positions. Once again, I may be wrong on this matter, but to say that Dave Eckstein "just happened to have a great senior class" sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Make no mistake, Coach Hensley did a great job in restoring the pride into the Panther football program. However, it does help to have some talented kids to go along with your coaching. He had mediocre talent this year, and look what happened. Dave Eckstein always had mediocre talent in Carroll County, and always seemed to put together good teams. Side note - Randy Borchers will be a good fit for the program.
  5. I was at the game too. Yes, it was very physical, but both teams had fouls called on them. Kevin Bueter took a knee from Scott Guesenhues, not from a Scott player, that I did see. Phil Horan inadvertantly turned his ankle on someone's foot...which happens in football, basketball, soccer, etc. No one set out to hurt anyone. I would say you are foolish to say anyone set out to hurt people. It was not a free for all, when you get away with it, then go for it. By the way, when Scott Guesenhues tried to cut off the head of the Scott player, I wanted to walk onto the floor and sit him down myself. That is an embarassment!!!
  6. Sounds like a great showing by the Eagles last week. Coach Carr will have them ready to take the Frankfort tournament this week. They have been in position to win every game this season, with the exception of Mason. The Eagle Posse should feel fortunate to have Coach Carr as their Head Coach.
  7. Here are my two cents...not that it matters. The kid got cut, may sound harsh, but I have a feeling there has to have been a good reason for it. Coach of the year in KY 2003, has been walking the sidelines at St. Henry for how long? My heart thinks Coach Faust found a justified reason to cut this kid. However, super dad's will always strike. P.S. Andy Furman is a (words that cannot be used on BGP)!
  8. First, what makes him the best player in the region? B/C he is tall? B/C he can dunk? I really like Dan and would go to war for him, but he is not the best player in NKY. Actually, I will say he is not even the best big man in NKY. He is a forward trapped in a big body. Can he start on every team in NKY? Maybe. The coaches here have been watching him play Varsity since his freshman year...I believe. Yeah, there are probably some biased opinions on who is better than who, and who votes for their buddies players, but to be #4 is a fair vote. As far as him being the top D-1 prospect in the state? I just don't think that is so. He will have a great year. He will put up good numbers. He is not the best in Northern Kentucky. I don't know what your criteria is on voting him the best, but that is your opinion and it's cool.
  9. Dan Penick was ranked the #4 best player by the coaches in the NKY pre-season top ten. How is that underrated? He also has signed to play at a D-1 school if I heard correctly. Underrated kids don't get that kind of attention. I am a big Penick fan and wish him a fantastic season, but there is no way he is underrated.
  10. The touchdown pass to Kohrs was the last TD of the game for NCC, but I don't remember if it was 4th down or not. I do believe it was in the 4th quarter though, early 4th. State final is a state final, gotta put on the show.
  11. I would guess the streak where a NKY team has won a state final. How many years is it, 27? I may be wrong, but thought I heard that on the broadcast tonight.
  12. OHSAA website had their game beginning at 7:00 p.m. Is there a score, or anyone want to give updates?
  13. Would be very nice! But more than likely will remain a what if...
  14. Defensive pass interference is not an automatic first down. Also, holding is a spot foul, which can be greater than the 10 yard penalty it is. Personal fouls and unsportsmanlike penalties are dead ball fouls, so you still go to the next down, or kick. Personally, they all have severe yardage mark-offs. I agree, it can be a stiff penalty, but usually when they get called for it once, it doesn't happen again.
  15. Do you think Beechwood will take the route Covington Catholic did and hire someone from Ohio, possibly pulling a GCL assistant, or former head coach?
  16. Mike Yeagle = class. I would like to wish him the best of luck in what ever he decides to do in life and/or sports. How I would love to see him resurface somewhere, and do to that program what he did for the Beechwood program.
  17. Does NewCath stay at home next week? If so, do they stay with the string of good luck and play at Holmes? Be hard to mess with a winner there. Good luck next week.
