  1. Some pretty good names in the hat for this job. Heard from a very reliable source: Schlarmann, Carr, Dawn, Russell, Seiter, Scott Code. They are taking applications through this week. Interviews start next week. Should be very interesting!
  2. Tiger I am well aware of the stats of last years team. The point that I was trying to make is that it is easy to make bold predictions in July but who really knows how the season will play out? It is obvious that we have different views on this matter but to say that certain players are not replaceable just simply is not true. Were Miller, Sharp, and Quigley good high school players, no doubt they were but to say that any of them is not replaceable is not true in my opinion. If they were as good as you say they were then they would be playing on the next level. The one thing that the team last year proved is that it takes a team to be successful and that the team is not built on the success of one player. It is obvious from your post that you disagree with some of the things that Coach Carr does and that is fine. He is the coach and he is at practice everyday, parents only see games and often times those games are seen from the perspective of there own son or daughter. The head coach has to deal with the team as a whole and sees a different perspective than player's parents do. Only a few people know how hard the players at Scott have worked this summer and I can guarantee that no team has worked harder.
  3. Actually Tiger, Aaron has had a great summer for the Eagles, maybe even the most improved player throughout the summer. Agree with you about Nikola but have to disagree about the talent level at Scott. The eagles actually have quite a bit of talent throughout the program, probably more talent top to bottom than they have had in the time Coach Carr has been at Scott. Although the senior class did have talent they can be replaced. I can see several of the players in the program as having a chance to reach a 1000 points, something this class failed to produce. And for all of those doubting the eagles the same was said in the preseason last year and they nearly made the regional finals.
  4. Still looks like a Ryle/CCH final. Who knows! CCH has a tough road and if they look ahead they will go down. THey will have to use a lot more pitching than Ryle to get to the finals.
  5. Congratulations to Coach Grady Brown and his players. What an accomplishment!
  6. Pretty good game to watch if your a Breds fan. Phil Horan homered, Mike Enzweiler tripled, Clayton Stone had a couple bit hits. Jared Harris pitched outstanding. Typical Coach Schulkens getting his team ready for district play. As he would say, everyone is 0-0 starting Monday.
  7. FYI- Talked to an NCC coach and here are the pairings today Conner @ CovCath Campbell Co @ Dixie NCC @ Beechwood St. Henry @ Scott
  8. Hard work. My "inside source" tells me those kids have worked their tails off and are a great group of extremely coachable kids. I wish I could have seen that game. I hear it was a great game to watch and be a part of. Not surprised Meyer threw a gem, great athlete. Good Luck against Beechwood Breds. To Succeed you must Believe!
  9. Great job to all these young men and their coaches. 10th region coaches were reprensented well: Carr, Code and Bacigalupo are all great coaches who deserve this honor. A special congratulations to Coach Brad Carr who did a tremendous job this year and is well deserving of this award. No one expected much out of this team this year. 20+ wins and two nail biting losses to Brossart and Clark Co again this year. Losing Chris Quigley was a huge loss and somehow he got his team to come together and play great down the stretch.

  11. :ylsuper: The 10th region is loaded with great coaches and they are all very well deserving but no way anyone has done a better job than Coach Carr. No one expected much out of Scott this year. They weren't ranked in the top 10 of NKY or the 10 region. Eagles are 8-2 without one of their top 2 players. Coach Carr has gotten the best out of this bunch. He gets my vote.
  12. Anyone have details on matchups, dates and times?
  13. :thumb: It also makes a few of your regular season games meaningful!
  14. Scott is in because they have won 9 of 10 and have been winning by large margins. They also haven't played a cupcake schedule with Simon Kenton, Mason Co, Tates Creek, Christian Co and Brossart.
  15. Scott won the JV game 61-42. Outscored Campbell Co 34-15 in the 2nd half.
  16. Opinions are opinions, but this year is not last. Brossart is good, many kudos to their coaches and kids. People making excuses for why Brossart lost to Mason is garbage. They lost, period. I have the feeling that if you look at the Scott/Mason game you would find similar stats. Brossart post game is much stronger than Scott's, but Scott's speed is what will hurt Brossart.
  17. Tates Creek and Christian County are equal to Mason Co. With that being said, both are 20 points better than Brossart. Prediction: Scott
  18. I agree with your post, but I thought Scott played great "D" last night. Honestly, in the first half alone, they must have recorded 15-18 steals. That is flat out playing defense. They are extremely quick to the ball, much more than Boone was.
  19. I really believe the Brossart experience will take them past Campbell. Campbell will come out and play hard, but Brossart is too much for them. Brossart 70 Cambell 52
  20. Congrats to all the kids who will receive awards and recognition.
