  1. Great job Breds. Great atmosphere! Great crowd! Breds keep the bragging rights again. Enquirer says the Breds have had the bragging rights since 2001. NCC has owned this series for years. Mark Kelly was superb again with 179 yards and 2 td's. Justin Jones was the unsung hero with some huge receptions on big 3rd and 4th downs. Great game defensively by Chris Kelly, Greg Willett and Ben Parr. I was very impressed with Campbell Co's backup quarterback Kramer. This is turning into one of the best rivalries in Nky. Just another day at the office for NewCath against Campbell. Good luck to the Breds next week against Beechwood and the remaining weeks of the playoffs.
  2. Just wanted to clear the air about Mark Kelly being suspended. It was a teacher error and by the time it was discovered it was too late for him to be reinstated for the game this week. Mark will still have to sit out this weeks game against Holy Cross (probably not a bad idea anyway to get some rest). I just feel it needs to be known that he was not at fault here and the administration dropped the ball.
  3. 7-Bellevue 5-SK 3-Campbell Co 2-NCC 1-Walton TB-Bellevue
  4. 7-colerain 5-simon kenton 3-ncc 2-holmes 1-carroll co tb-colerain
  5. Holmes- 7 NCC- 5 Campbell Co- 3 Card. Mooney- 2 Grant Co- 1
  6. A little bias but I have to say Coach Schulkens from NCC. His team won the All A regional, district championship and then the 9th region title. Beating CovCath the consensus #1 team in NKY all year. What more can a coach accomplish in one year? His team won every important game they participated in.
  7. Dumb statement about the left fielder. From what I saw this year he comes in on a ball a ton better than going back. Speaking with NCC coaches- they had a great scout on all CovCath batters as well as their starting pitcher Niehaus. Congratulations to Coach Schulkens on a job well done. I'm sure he will thank his staff and players and not take any credit but he did a tremendous job this year keeping his players fresh and making them believe they could win it. :dancingpa Bring it home against LexCath boys! To Succeed You Must Believe!
  8. Everyone lucks out in some way. Boone can pitch Krohman again, not Houlehan. NCC can pitch Conner again Friday. Dixie can pitch Nicholls on Friday.
  9. Congratulations to Coach Wilhoite and the Rebels. They are hitting the ball extremely well right now.
  10. Should be a good one! I say Breds 10-8.
  11. Breds will play Holy Cross on Wednesday.
  12. NewCath and Bellevue were rained out. Play today I would imagine.
  13. NCC defeated Campbell Co 4-2 last night. Great game! Cain pitched a great game for the Breds. Gray, Cain, Kelly & Murphy with big hits. Breds will now take on Calvary who defeated Brossart 10-9.
  14. NewCath beats Ludlow 6-1 and Amelia 6-0 to advance to the semifinals. Sophomore Shaun Meyer pitches a two hitter in the opener and senior Matt Ritter throws a complete game shutout in game 2.
  15. Jeremy Connor went 6 for NCC. Michael Lipscomb struck out the side in the 7th. Alex Pangallo hit a mammouth homerun over the leftfield fence. Mark Kelly and Nathan Rawe with huge 2 out hits. NCC played small ball to perfection, sacrificing runners over and getting big hits to produce runs. Congratulations to Coach Schulkens and his players on a well played tournament.
  16. All A championship game Thursday, April 10th 5pm at Morscher Field. NewCath vs. Holy Cross. Winner to advance to play 10th region winner for a trip to Applebees field. Good Luck to the Breds!
  17. Mick Cronin from UC. Did great things at Murray St and is doing good things with limited talent. UC is on the rise!
  18. It just makes sense for the Hornets to play DI. They have crushed quite a few teams that will be playing D2. Will they win DI, probably not. Would they have won D2, who knows. If they were so worried about winning and winning only then they wouldn't have played up in their leagues and most tournaments. Obviously they are teaching their players to learn the game of basketball at a competitive level. As for next year, there will not be a Hornets team. The original head coach has quit and taken his son with him. The team seems to be playing pretty well right now.
  19. The Hornets finally played at their age level. They have been playing up all year and want to play the highest level of competition around. This is why they are playing Div 1 in Lexington. The coaches and players feel like they should play Div 1 after placing 2nd in the state last year (which isnt bad for putting a bunch of kids together and not running a CLUB AAU TEAM). Teams like the Wolfpack only play Div 2 so they have a chance to win a championship. This isnt necessarily the goal of the Hornets. Their goal is to play the best and improve as the year goes on. Seems to me their are alot of coaches on here that are living their lives through their kids. It's sad! Good Luck to all teams and hopefully you have fun, learn and play good competition. These are the things you remember for the rest of your lives. Not necessarily winning championships!
  20. RD- Why all the hate towards NCC and their coaches? Bottom line-NCC got a bad draw and lost to a much more talented team. I don't care who they had guarding McGraw or Simpson they were not going to win that game.
  21. This just keeps getting better and better. Its funny that people cannot admit that they were wrong. Scott and Brossart are two teams that will get better and better as the year goes on. Win or lose next Friday I am sure that some on here will have negative things to say about Scott. Let the players be happy for the first win over Brossart. The season is a marathon and not a sprint and the Eagles continue to get better and better after struggling early with a tough schedule.
  22. Guess all the predictions were wrong by all of the basketball experts on this site. Coach Carr and the Eagles gave great effort tonight and will be a factor in the district.
