Was going to listen to this one on 90.7 the Wind, but got nothing but music. I figured they would cover this one... Either way, not suprising, GRC way too much talent and scoring for Paris.... This Paris team was a long way from the team last year that almost knocked out Bourbon in the first round of the district tournament....

If you move the region to the NKY arena, your still going to have the same complaints from those from the southern part of the region (see 40th district), about travel etc. I dont have a problem with playing it in a Fieldhouse, and until the new Montgomery Co. gym is built, I think it should be played there, and even if/when the new gym is built, it should be on a rotational basis....... In a perfect world, there would be a 15,000 seat gym at Blue Licks (pretty central location) with free burgers, hot dogs, and cokes.....

I wasn't half bad after getting used to the names, I came in thinking I was doing color, had a "solid" second half.... Want to think 90.7 The Wind, they do a good job..... As for the game, both these teams were unreal. Some good basketball, MMI plays against Tuesday Night at 7:00 against New Creations....

I think the people from Falmouth will take a loss tonight over a loss Tuesday anyday of the week (I would hope). Senior Night in the Fieldhouse never easy to win, and again, this could easily be a very very very good regional semi/final....

Looks like Harrison is peaking at the right time, we'll have to see how I have them doing in the districts with my preview coming out later tonight....

Last edition of the year (I'll call it the "scum" edition , district previews will be coming out Friday or Saturday Night) This Week 1. Pendleton Co. (25-2)-Same old same old, #1 throughout the year, should be a good game in Cynthiana Tuesday night... 2. Clark Co. (18-8)-Disappointing effort against Harrison on Tuesday Night, but a win against Lafayette last Friday warrents me to keep them at #2.... 3. Mason Co. (18-8)-You can make a case for them being #2 this week, but GRC beat them a couple weeks ago, so I keep them at 3.... 4. Harrison Co. (12-11)-Amazing effort against GRC on Tuesday night, no doubt it'll be the best 1st round district game in the 10th... 5. Bourbon Co. (15-9)-6 wins in a row, if they are pressing up to par, they can be a tough out... 6. Bishop Brossart (15-11)-Lost 6 games in a row, they are falling fast..... 7. Montgomery Co. (15-11)-Played Pendleton tough, I think Campbell is better talent wise, but Montgomery is an interesting squad... 8. Campbell Co. (9-14)-I have a feeling whoever win the Scott/CC game on the 28th in the first round of the 37th will make a good run in region.... 9. Scott (14-12)-They are going to have a week to prepare for Campbell, I think spots 7-9 are up for grabs in all honesty... 10. Model hung in tough in the first half, but Bourbon was too much in a rather "scummie" sloppy second half of play. Good to see the Bourbon seniors get a win in their last home regular season game, they play Western Hills on Friday Night and play first round of the 40th district at home against Montgomery on Tuesday Night.....

I do have a tendency to jinx teams..... :lol: I dont think they'll beat PC, but if they do it'll make regional as crazy as a grandmother at a frat party.....

I have said it since late December, if Harrison shows up, they can play with anyone in the region. However, when they are bad, they are really bad..... Very solid win for the Breds, wins against Brossart and GRC fit good on the resume..... Harrison will rise to #4 in the FreakNasty Power Poll this week, solid effort... Pendleton should win next Tuesday night, but if the Breds go into Winchester and win by 14, anything can happen. With Harrison on their homecourt, and if they play solid ball, you could be looking at a huge upset.... and if Harrison can knock out PC, your looking at a battle royal of 5 or 6 teams that can come out of Maysville with the 10th....

Pendleton 65 Mason 57 Keeping Turner on the floor is a must for Mason........

Silver Grove has been just as good lately, they have a better overall record, and they beat them earlier in the season..... St Pat or Silver Grove for the 10 spot? You can flip a coin, my coin landed on SG....

Some new news.... Have had a player tell me that Rick Massie has been working with the team along with Wes Tipton (my former studio production teacher, I did the sports for his school news while at Bourbon). It appears that the players are getting in better shape, doing a ton of agility type drills two days a week, and weight training three days a week... It appears that Massie is the front runner for the HC job, but a few others are in the mix, including Foley from Frankfort (surprise, even though I dont think he'll take the job) and Poynter from Trimble Co. There always appears to be a huge "wild card" type hire that has shown some interest, and if anyone would like to get his name feel free to leave me a PM..... Appears the hiring should take place within this month....

Silver Grove has played very well lately, so has St. Pat, the only fair way to split it was head to head IMO... Pendleton's going to have to play really bad to lose in March IMO, but I agree, the only other teams I see having a legit shot are GRC and Mason.....

Always enjoyed talking with Timmy at the games, he will defintely be missed..... I remember him sitting next to me at Bourbon games last year in the student section occasionally (the Mason Co. game last year comes to mind). He was always funny, and a huge supporter of Bourbon Co. athletics.... He will not only be missed throughout the school, but in the community. God Bless his family.

They beat a decent Bourbon team by 10 in Paris without Mains, Pat Elliott had an illness (and scored 34) and Jon Elrod had an ankle injury. While I agree Mains is the heart and soul of that team, and they probably aren't going to beat GRC, Mason, or Bishop Brossart without him, it is possible. It's like a poison with them, you either let Mains kill ya, or Elliott....

Very impressive victory in the Fieldhouse..... GRC will regain the #2 spot in the weekly FreakNasty 10th region power poll...... Would this not be a good little regional semi....... Knowles is the best player in the 40th by 5 fold, he's something else..... Miller with 8, and fouling out early, obviously hurt the Royals. You can defintely tell the difference when he is not on the floor.....
