  1. I guess that rules me out of competition. I was just getting into shape too. Thought if I could work out just a few more weeks I would have e'nuf endurance to be able to at least run out and get the T after kick-offs.
  2. I heard that Dale took his entire family over to Africa... a great coach, inspirational to his players as well as to his family!
  3. Merrrils Inlet - several of the eateries on the Inlet have been rated very high or best in Southern Living Magazine. If you like low country cook'n - you'll like Merrils Inlet. It's several miles south of Myrtle Beach.
  4. 60% percent Dixie. And all this time I thought I was a Northerner... guess I better take them wheels off of the second car in the side yard!
  5. Most of the neighbors in Park Hills were there before a field was even built. At one time that statement would be true, however now I would think that most of the neighbors moved in after the complex was built. If a decsion would go to council, I wouldn't be too surprised to see lights on! I think the issue now would be cost. I would like to guess lights for Cov Cath would run over $200,000.
  6. I too enjoy the day games in the Fall @ Cov Cath. It's part of the tradition playing Cov Cath at home. Hopefully, they will only use the lights for soccer, track, lacrosse and field hockey!
  7. Was that one of those Marine type of weddings as L-neck was heading off to save America or did you folks go to Vegas? Gee Whiz - 11 minutes... I've been married for 25 years to Mrs. Streaker - whoops better not call her that...
  8. Congrats gametime. Perhaps you may consider in moving the event a week early... everyone will certainly understand!
  9. Next Saturday is July 7th. Better known as 07/07/07! What a lucky day to get married... if you can consider getting married a lucky event! Iif the groom cannot remember his anniversay date - he will be in deep muck!
  10. It shouldn't make it difficult on the officials. Call 'em as you see 'em!
  11. My dad officiated football for more than 20 years. He was consistenly ranked as one of the top officials in the state of Kentucky. He eventually went on to do pro football for a few years and then gave it up when I played. He would not take the highschool I attended and the one he attended for highschool football. Too much pressure on him and I think it would take away from the simple pleasure it gave him to officiate highschool football. I know of several local officials that officiate games of schools they attended... so it must not be a rule. In our area, they are so short on officials and crews that I think there is probably not much of a choice to avoid the conflict.
  12. I have a feeling the Samauri tailor would probably win... unless one of those straps would break. Boy that woud be butt ugly.
  13. I am thinking if the community can eventually pull together on this issue and end the "turf" wars, the best outcome for both schools would be a Bob Miller Stadium with Turf. That way, CC and BB can play as much football at Bob Miller as the time of day would allow! For BB to find property and to build a stadium w/ parking, a track, lighting, scoreboard etc., the final cost would be over $1 million easily. If the two schools could pull their resouces, raising $750,000 or so would be the ticket. Can two schools dual utilize a field and stadium? Highlands has just three home games this year and not all are scheduled for Friday night. So, my answer to my question is, "yes." Even if CC had 5 home games scheduled this year, dual utilization should not be an obstacle. (Unless the Red Devils play on Saturday nights or Friday nights when the camels are out of town.) Of course the color scheme for the new turf would be another war and thread down the road! Sometimes you just have to ask yourself, " What would Bob do?" I think most of us who knew coach Miller already know the answer!
  14. Actually, the judge will have to run for re-election in some non-distant future. Hope the fine folks of the district do not have a "short" memory or they will be hard "pressed" for another round of poor judgeship. By the way, I found an interesting photo of the owner of the drycleaning business in D.C. He looks so familiar. Just can't a finger on it.... Belushi the Samuari Dry Cleaner? Nah...
  15. For the life of me, I do not understand why folks feel a need to get their names in the paper and faces on TV and make remarks about the shooting without having any facts. They simply release their emotions without thinking about the children. Many of the quoted are good friends of mine. Please do not jump to conclusions about the wife and her actions upon her husband. There are two sides to every story and this tragic event, unfortunately, definately has two sides. In due time, we will learn about the events that drove the wife to take her husband's life. Very sad time for the children, very unfortunate set of circumstances for the wife.
  16. I agree with you UKMustangFan. That is the real tragedy. Athletes losing their lives at such a young age.
  17. Not sure how BG will fair this year, but with the D1 talent they have on their squad, I bet they will be very entertaining to watch. It will be up to these gifted athletes to get the rest of the team to rally 'round them. If they can play as a team - watch out!
  18. L-neck, guess you did not hear Dale's quote recently. This Highlands team is supposed to be. "The Best Ever. They are just AWESOME." I would have to think HHS is the 5th quality opponenent on Cov Cath's 2007 schedule.
  19. BBGreen, thanks for the schedule... I see some W's this year for the 'M-stangs. The basic building block to a winning JV and Varsity highschool football program is a solid youth junior football system. I understand that CC and New Cath tap into the Red Devils and I think there is another league that has just started in the "county." Where will the future BB footballers come from? Red Devils, the new league or will BB eventually form their own youth system? IMO,I sense a little animosity between CC and BB and am thinking that is where the rubber or "turf" meets the road and "root" cause of the friction...
  20. BGGreen, would you mind posting Brossart's frosh and varsity football schedule? I would like to catch a few games this Fall. I will be flexible on the location of the home games... Any thought on use of the field in Ft Thomas. It's turf and is closer than Cov Cath. Also comes with a cannon and a winning football tradition. (Thomas More, Newport, Newport Central Cath have all used the field.) Just a thought.
  21. Who was the QB that led the JV team last year? Saw him play a couple of JV games.
