  1. Intriguing game. I’m going to go with South Warren in a close one, but I would not be at all surprised if Gibson Southern won this one. @Titan32 why is Gibson Southern ranked so low in the Indiana standings? I’m going off of MaxPreps. I've been looking at their recent years and you guys have been incredibly consistent and by all means a very solid program. I hope South Warren pulls it off because it’s against an out-of-state opponent, but much respect to your program. Credit to both teams for scheduling this series.
  2. Congrats to Russell, glad to see they’re still scheduling Ohio teams. Will they play Ironton again in the near future?
  3. Impressive win, Colonels looked dominant in all phases.
  4. Will be stunned if UK doesn’t win this.
  5. I expect the offense to look much more fluid.
  6. Never been less confident going into a game against SK.
  7. It’s always a great day when the SEC beats Clemson!
  8. Hopefully JC wins, I highly respect their program and KYHS football is better when they’re rolling.
  9. Speakers are absurdly loud. The pregame is miserable sitting in front of them.
  10. Good stuff. I'm hoping they continue to take care of business and get even better throughout the season. I’ll be following them closely this year.
  11. This is fantastic - I’ve been wondering about this exact information. Its interesting to delve into the storied rivalries of KY border-programs that have been played for decades; Blazer and Ironton (OH) is just one example, and it’s a shame that series has been (apparently) discontinued. I would love for CCH to schedule more out-of-state schools; it doesn’t necessarily have to be a Cincy GCL opponent, it could be a school like Anderson, who is not quite on the GCL level, but nonetheless formidable. They have played SK within recent memory and just played a series with South Oldham. Cov Cath scheduled a series with Kings Mill several years ago, who is in the same conference as Anderson. With that being said, I believe that Cov Cath should attempt to schedule East Central. East Central is a powerhouse in Indiana who is in close proximity to NKY; they have played Campbell County several times within the last decade. Cov Cath also had a home-and-home with Indianapolis Bishop Chatard several years ago. Admittedly, I’m not sure how the logistics play out and how far ahead, as it were, that these matchups can be arranged, but it’s certainly time. The best of luck to all KY squads in their respective matchups against out-of-state competition.
  12. Congrats NCC! How high is their ceiling this year? It would be nice to see them make a run in the postseason.
  13. The pregame festivities were fantastic, referring, of course, to the skydivers. The new scoreboard looks terrific. Dennis Griffin was packed. The first quarter was promising indeed, particularly due to the explosiveness of the offense; Harney was dynamic in space. The team looked completely different as compared to last week. However, the offense sputtered and didn’t look cohesive until quite late in the second half. Even then, the playcalling left much to be desired. Harney took some huge hits and Highlands looked quite prepared for what we were calling. The trenches on this squad are not what we have witnessed during the program’s recent run, which were anchored by line play. This team is a step back from last year, without a doubt. To be fair, when you lose as much as Cov Cath did, a drop-off is certainly not unexpected. However, when it comes to Cov Cath, shouldn’t the expectation be to reload, not rebuild? This team will not win State, but should win all of their remaining games, and especially the Beechwood game; you cannot lose to both of your biggest rivals at home during the same season. On to the next.
  14. I would like to see more creativity with the offense. If anything, a rhythm needs to be established so the identity of this team starts to emerge. With that being said, it was the first game of the year, and with so much production to replace, it isn’t altogether unsurprising that the offense struggled a bit against a good team on the road. I expect to see some progress this week, as well as a team who’s hungry to get their first win against a bitter rival. The skydivers should be quite the spectacle. I’ll be in Park Hills for this one. I'm sure it’ll be absolutely packed, and it’ll be interesting to see if attendance surpasses the LaSalle game in 2019; I don’t have official attendance numbers but that was the most people I’ve personally ever seen in Dennis Griffin. Go Colonels, Beat Highlands!
  15. I’m not sure what to expect from the team this year, and I’m particularly intrigued how the offense will look after losing so much production. Ideally the offense will gel quickly, but this is the first game and there may be an adjustment period. With that being said, this team certainly has talent and I expect them to showcase that. I don’t think this will be an easy game by any means, but Cov Cath should get it done. Go Colonels!!
