  1. What a gritty win. Proud of this team! Much respect to JC.
  2. Wow, Pikeville really just gave up a 4th and goal from the 22.
  3. Sad that Ashland and Ironton aren’t playing yearly anymore. Great rivalry.
  4. That’s what it sounded like on the broadcast.
  5. My personal favorite rivalry. This game may be a shootout. I’m going to take the Colonels by a touchdown.
  6. South Warren in a close one. Really impressed with the adversity they overcame last week against a terrific Gibson Southern team out of Indiana 3A who could challenge for a state title this year.
  7. Hoping Ryle pulls this one out, but CAL is humming as a program with a lot of talent. Props to both teams for scheduling this one. Makes KY football better.
  8. I stand corrected, South Warren looks impressive.
  9. South Warren will not win 5A, that much is quite clear.
  10. The good news for UK is that Kirby doesn’t run the score up on people like Kiffin does. Georgia by 3TDs+
  11. Beat California! On that note, does anyone know the history of Kentucky playing California schools (if there is any at all) ? This series is an enigma, but nonetheless intriguing.
  12. Just wanted to say I’m incredibly proud of Kentucky’s representation the past couple years. Would love to see Boyle play and beat a big boy from Cali or Texas. If St. Edward wins a state title this year it will be an even better victory. I remember when Cov Cath beat LaSalle in 2019, an undoubtedly terrific win, but made even sweeter after LaSalle went on that year to win a state title. Don’t forget about last year when Woodford County defeated one of the upper echelon teams out of LA, Warren; that victory was an astronomical upset according to the models. Perhaps they can catch lightning in a bottle again this Friday, but that’s a tall order. Boyle County absolutely deserves their national ranking, but I’m not sure how they would get to a national title. I believe some publications awarded 2011 Trinity with that distinction, but they thoroughly trounced an inconceivably tough schedule.
  13. Wow, that loss was absolutely shocking. I’m not a UK fan per se, but route for them because I have family who go there. If I was a diehard fan, however, I wouldn’t like the slap in the face from Stoops, particularly to the fans who “ponied up” for the collective and this is what they get. I think Stoops has done amazing things for Kentucky and he absolutely deserves credit for dominating Louisville in recent years and getting some wins against UF that the fanbase was starving for. This is crazy though, absolutely unacceptable, and it seems like they totally whiffed on the qb position. It’s a shame because UK actually has talent. The ninth-highest paid coach in college football should not be losing to South Carolina by 25, especially at home. Regardless if South Carolina had a flukey first game and beats LSU this weekend, it’s still unacceptable. The good news for UK this coming weekend is that Kirby doesn’t run the score up on people like Kiffin does.
  14. Hilarious! And awesome!
  15. I too yearn for Cov Cath to again schedule opponents like the ones you mentioned. I think the perfect school to reach out to would be East Central. An Indiana power within close proximity who has played Campbell County a few times the past decade and has historically played GCL schools. Cov Cath doesn’t have to play a GCL school, get a good program like Anderson on the schedule.
  16. I don’t know if I can be of much help since I typically reference the MaxPreps rankings, but according to the Kentucky High School Football Media Poll they’re ranked 4th in the 5A division. On MaxPreps they’re ranked 9th in the entire state.
