Coach Spencer has gotten the pieces put together well in Latonia. I've got a lot of respect for Coach Herbst and the Dayton program but I think Holy Cross is going to continue to roll this week. You can't ever overlook an opponent, especially in the playoffs, but I'm really excited about the potential for a round two game between Wiggy's Newport squad and Holy Cross.

This is the time to get really excited about playing football. I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks.

Will is a great player from a great Newport Catholic family.

7 on 7 is a drill much moreso than a competition or game. It's a lot more about identifying strengths and weaknesses by getting to compete against an opponent that's not from your own squad. Gives us get a fresh look at how the fellas get along when the players on the field aren't necessarily able to anticipate what the other players can do as much as they can in intrasquad drills. We had some great looks on Friday and we had some things we need to get ironed out. As a receiving corps we need to keep working on getting into space and making sure to catch the ball before trying to advance down the field. Tipped balls hurt us on Friday. Definitely looking forward to Dylan being healed up and back on the field for us.

Coach B has always been one of the best in the biz. I'm sure if he's interested to keep in the game Ben and Noel would be more than thrilled to have him come pitch in at Holmes. The o-line at Beechwood still be in great hands with Bob's protege Matt Mercer taking the reins.

The QB draw is an under-appreciated play.

Don't count the Breds out just yet.

My family only breaks out our tartan for formal occasions. A solid W tonight is all the breeze I need blowing up my skirt.

I'm going with the good guys in blue for this one. We've been working hard on preparedness. If our fellas go hard and bring 100% effort on every single play for 48 minutes, there's nobody beating us.
