I like the Maroons this year, very physical and made Tilghman play a drawn out game, plus their defense forced a couple turnovers. I do think Tilghman has looked sloppy but nothing you can pinpoint, some inexperience, high expectations, and to be frank not many games that come off as a threat. I expect them to get it rolling when it matters but a concern if I was Coach Thompson nonetheless.

It’s the perfect time for this Blue Tornado team to get back to its dominant ways before hosting Logan County next week. That will be their toughest test the rest of the year and will likely decide the District Champion. The Patriots just haven’t looked good in any phase, Coach Hood may have bitten off more than he can chew dealing with AD duties as well. I remember this summer reading an article of him talking about Boys volleyball in our State and how it was rising in popularity, not even sure that statement is true but that is an example of other responsibilities that start to dig into time you normally would of spent with your own team. Scottsville is a great place to be on football Friday nights, hope they can figure it out.

I’m with @Tkinslow after I saw they struggled with those Wildcats it made me less excited for this one in a competitive sense. Speed will be too much for the Raiders, I like the Scotties by a few scores.

CAL will throw it all over the field. The Centurions haven’t thrown an INT and we’re halfway through the season, BG hasn’t caused much havoc if any on offenses this year. The Freshman QB on the road against a sound defense isn’t too favorable either. Could get ugly. Just hoping for a healthy 48 minutes, I see another running clock. Hopefully after this beatdown they’ll run through the district and host a couple playoff games, very tough year for the Purples.

Final from Calloway County, kudos to the Lakers they were clearly the better football team this evening. First win over this Warren East program. RB Logan Smith had well over 300 yards with 5 TD’s, they dominated this Raiders front 7 from start to finish. I’m very shocked at this outcome, first district win for Calloway County in 4 years. Warren East (1-4) will host district foe Franklin Simpson (3-2) next week. Calloway County (4-1) will travel to Logan County (5-0) in a district matchup.

Lakers running right through the Warren East defense, they get to the redzone and a couple of bad snaps put Calloway in a 4th and goal and they get a TD. 2pt conversion is GOOD. Raiders throw an INT first play of the drive. Lakers start at the Warren East 35 yd line, Logan Smith with his 4th TD of the night, 25 carries already midway through the 2Q. XP is NO GOOD. Raiders turnover on downs around midfield. Lakers continue to feed the SR RB Logan Smith, but the FR RB Walker Bell walks into the endzone for a TD. 2 pt conversion is GOOD. Raiders with a critical response to stay in the game with a kickoff return TD by SO Azarrious Douglas. XP is GOOD. Lakers FAIL to recover the onside kick. Warren East ball. Raiders driving, will have a 2nd and goal at the 5 yard line to open the 4th Quarter.

Both games I’ve watched of Ryle they find ways to put their opponents in advantageous situations at the worst possible time. Great win for the Bluebirds.

Lakers INT in redzone. Raiders FUMBLE first play of drive @ their own 2 yd line. Lakers TD. Raiders 3 and out, go for it on 4th and sacked at their own 31. Lakers TD. Raiders with a very good 2 min drive getting down to the Lakers 10 yard line, a big sack on 3rd down puts them at the 20 yard line. 37 yard FG attempt to end the half is NO GOOD.

7-7 End 1Q Lakers had a very good opening drive and scored. Raiders drove it down the field the following possession and get stuffed on the 2 yards line. Calloway PUNT. Raiders TD. Calloway drives to the redzone and a fumble to end the quarter gives Warren East possession.

Not many bright spots on this Warren East roster but dismissing Brayden Lightfoot and deeming him as an average WR isn’t a very good assessment of talent. Boyer is a reliable receiver as well.

I agree, geographically we’re in a prime location to be able to do that sort of thing, 1/3 of the 120 counties border one of our seven neighboring States. Would be great for our student athletes, KY high school football doesn’t get much praise but if we’re able to win games in places they believe to be more competitive than the Bluegrass State it will definitely garner some attention. Especially with the respect they give Ohio, Tennessee, and Illinois, a real opportunity in my opinion but a very tall task.

Went to the State semi finals in 2008 and haven’t won a playoff game since.

Muhlenberg gets put back in the dog house, an exciting first month full of hope but they’ll be ready for basketball season sooner than later with MNH and Owensboro looming.
