I guess I have two questions really, did Isable leave because the transfer coming in or because Davis is behind him?I know it’s hard to properly evaluate Freshman especially when you’re playing the sort of competition the Purples do, and like I mentioned I’ve been fine with his play but that leads to the 2nd question. Would Isable have gave these Purples a better chance to win a couple of those early games? Had a year in the system already, and like I stated earlier in my opinion he comes off to me as the better one as of 9/29, Davis just seems to be a little erratic at times like most kids who are asked to play the role he is in right now.

The Dragons will try to throw it, and I do like their QB and their WR North is pretty special too. Unfortunately that Dragons OL will get slaughtered, similar to last week when they hosted Greenwood. We’re halfway through the season now and I’m curious, would the BG faithful rather of had Isable who transferred to Warren East this offseason rather than the Freshman Davis? Not to rain on the Davis parade and to be clear he is far from the reason why these Purples walk into this week with a 1-5 record but a valid question. I’ve personally been impressed with Isable and Davis both, but I do think I’d lean Isable today if I had to choose.

Okay that makes sense, I never got that memo. And with those two teams I mentioned it definitely doesn’t seem that rule is applying to them, I suppose Warren Central should start creating rumors they’re consolidating with Bowling Green or something.

You’re right they are a 5A team in terms of population, but I’m fairly certain their numbers weren’t 6A the last few years while they were competing in 6AD2 . If you look at 6AD1 right now CC and Hopkinsville are present, and I have a hard time believing either of those have 6A #’s either, well maybe County but definitely not the Tigers.

I know the Dragons were playing 6A to avoid the bullies in the county in 5A after their 4A stint was up a few seasons ago. I wonder whose idea it was to come to 5A and group with BG rather than just biting the bullet and go with SW in that poorly constructed 6A District 2.

And it’s not one of those fancy scoreboards, when you’re present for a game it doesn’t feel like you’re living in 2025. A true blast from the past.

While that would be a great story, 0% chance.

Any other year besides this one that statement would be false, odd not seeing at least 1 of the 5 schools have a really good QB. A really nice run of Quarterbacks in Warren County/BG the last couple of decades, I’ll have to check that young man out though.

The first weekend of fall and basketball season seems to be in full swing. Somebody get those defensive coordinators some milk.

I’ve always thought the way Franklin Simpson aligns their defense that they leave too many windows to throw the ball into. A team like East that lives and dies off the dink and dunk offense just picked them apart, they tried to start widening out their LB’s and started getting gashed up the middle. Still think they’re a good football team, just need to watch some film and spruce up some things before they meet Logan County in a few weeks.

I’m sure the BGP rankings will move them up for it, 1-5 team in the top 10 of their class. I understand the dynamic of wanting to be in front of the curve if they end up turning it around, and they’ve played these tough programs I get it, but you have to win games at the end of the day. It sounds crazy because the crosstown Gators have never held a torch to this Bowling Green program, and I have to admit typing this out it feels wrong but that Greenwood defense could really give the Purples offense problems, especially if #3 is still inactive. They get after the QB very well, I like their secondary too and I believe on 10/17 we’re going to see one hell of a rock fight.

Nail on the head. If you weren’t from the area and stumbled upon Warren East High School it truly looks like a small college campus, the layout is awesome. The kids are great too, and it seems like the recipe that has led this school to some success is a veteran coach that is very detail oriented. Curious as to where this goes, I know just a couple years ago there were some names afloat and it was shocking to me that they were passed on.

Tip of the cap to the Raiders coaching staff, tough situation which they’ve had to endure for the past month and after a loss to Calloway County last week in bad fashion it was pleasant to see the fight these Raiders showed tonight. The inability to punch the ball in the 1H caught up to this WE bunch but the explosion was there, I touched on how awful the run game looked at the beginning of the season and SR Jeremiah Lee has started finding lanes and exploding, very impressive work from that young man. Defensively, not much to say, same story just a different week in the season, schematically it’s vulnerable at times but the real problem is they can’t tackle the ball carrier. Franklin seemed stunned in the 2H as if they thought WE was just going to give up. Their offense did what it wanted, was nice to see others involved rather than a heavy dosage of McPherson. The Raiders host their long time district rival Allen County Scottsville next Friday while Franklin Simpson will be at Shadetree taking on the Lakers of Calloway County.

It was a scoreless 1st quarter, Gators scored 23 in the 2nd quarter and that was the game. Game went about how I figured, the Dragons were unable to stop the Greenwood pass rush and were in shambles all evening, their lone score was off of a pick 6. SR Davis Chaney had another productive evening for the downhill play style they wish to play, but it’s the defense that is a strength for this Gators team and it’ll be interesting to see how well they can continue to progress. Greenwood travels to Barren County next week while the Dragons renew a “rivalry” with the Purples that’ll end a 6 year hiatus.

Throughly impressed with these Purples, I had valid reasoning to doubt how well they would play this evening yet they showed up and gave these Centurions all they wanted. CAL was very sound defensively, sent some timely blitzes that rattled the Freshman.

Raiders have moving the ball just can’t put it in the end zone.

Shocked is an understatement, explosive play to start the game was a great boost. How the Purples OL started off against this CAL front 7 I didn’t think they’d ever get anything going but they’ve looked better as the game has gone along. I believe we have ourselves a ballgame, should be an exciting 2H.

Glad the Raiders have came to play; hope they can continue with this energy all 4 quarters.

Franklin-Simpson makes its second trip of the year to the Smurf Turf, looking to erase the opening night loss with a win Friday evening. The Raiders are coming off a loss in the road last week. Franklin Simpson have owned the head to head matchup, but the Raiders won the last meeting. Warren East is sitting at 1-4, and they aren’t necessarily equipped for a win in this one. Defense is coming off their worst performance of the year, let up 489 yards on 54 carries that turned into seven touchdowns. It’s no secret what Franklin will come in here looking to do and I don’t see a way these Raiders will be able to stop it. The offense has put up 81 points these last two weeks and haven’t got a win, it’s true they can score but they also rarely put together drives of substance which puts the defense in bad positions. It’s strange to see an offense that can move the ball decently and still run a fast pace tempo knowing the defense can’t stop a runny nose. Halfway through the year Franklin-Simpson stands 3-2, and I was impressed with how well the Wildcats competed against Tilghman. I know @FSfan mentioned the other day about how much has changed since the opener. Not really anything drastic in the sense of personnel or schematics, they just seem to be playing with a different type of energy. In my opinion the SR Blake McPherson has started to rub off on his teammates, that kid plays with hard and I’ll be curious to see if the Raiders have anybody to step up and get some pads popping. Long time district foes; always a physical game, I don’t see this one being particularly close though. Hopefully I’m wrong, I was down on these Raiders against Greenwood and they competed. Was very high on them against the Lakers this past week and was horrendously wrong. While I have my concerns about the defense stopping the Wildcats rushing attack, I’m not so sure the OL will be able to keep Isable clean. I’m expecting a running clock on the home team, which would essentially push the Raiders to the brink of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015 Wildcats 48 Raiders 12

That class of 2011 for Allen County was special, freshman year went 1-9 and then went on to go 33-6 their next 3 seasons. Bounced by the Lakers in ‘08, faced off against a stout Lone Oak team in ‘09, and then went on to lose to Boyle at the Houch their SR year and had a chance to win that ballgame.
