Will go off of what has been said, but the next Pulaski County HC will be Travis Burns or Josh Roberts. I would assume this will be announced by the end of the week. Both are very qualified.

If Stonebreaker applied, he'll be interviewed. Reading through the comments and seeing people say "success at a small school is different." Respectfully, he led Casey County to a Region championship game, and had the opportunity to beat Corbin on the road in that game. Success is success, period. I like Travis Burns and Chad Griffin as well, and would do fine. CJ will be interivewed, or should be. Foley out at this point?

I always felt like Coach Marcum was a great fit at Estill County. Maybe not the playoff success some are looking for, but he built a very consistent and solid program IMO.

I cover/follow mostly baseball, and that side of things seems to be the total opposite opinion of this. If a coach is a good candidate and presents that they are ready for a job, then they will be hired. "Experience" is a loose term about like "culture" to me. While I agree that Pulaski will have stronger options, you never know. The middle school coach is a strong name, and one with minimum varsity experience. (Somebody correct me if I am wrong on that. I might be!) He's still qualified, actually I would say that he is over qualified. Let's be wise and not throw out categories that determine if a coach is or isn't worthy of a job.

I guess potentially. I’d like to know the number of applications in general. I would assume over 20 here? His chances won’t be as high as other names listed above, if they chose to apply. Scanning through the open jobs, this is by far the most attractive. Pulaski won’t waste time.

Foley may apply, but I don’t see the move happening. I still think that the Pulaski middle school coach will be the guy moving forward.

This was my thinking as well when I said that earlier.

Clevenger has what most consider a top 15-20 job in the state. That, plus a very young team, administration support, and facilities. The 2024 schedule does them favors also. I know it’s routine to throw his name into every thread every cycle, but Clevenger isn’t leaving. As he shouldn’t.

Would Steve Stonebreaker throw his name in the ring? Somebody correct me, but success seems to follow him at every stop. I’m not sure how many more years he wants to go however. He’s been around in the business for some time.

Oddly enough, I expect Foley to drop his name for this.

Coach Hines will be named head coach soon, maybe even this week. Was told by a source inside the school system.

What is the average turnover rate, 35-40 a year? I’d say for Kentucky, we’re well over halfway of positions coming open. Unless there is a major surprise, I don’t see any being as attractive as this one. I do think they need to make the right hire or they’ll begin to see athletes moving around. It was made clear in the summer that the interim coach was just that, and the job would open at the conclusion of the year.

The Burdine era didn’t do South any favors. I also believe that with the current layout, North is the school choice for football. I do think South has talent, and can really see the program turn around quicker than later if they can bring in a good hire. Tough district, need a good hire!

If a school has posted a position since November but is going to leave it posted until February, they’re not serious about the hire. Seems like precious time!
