Bowling green at 9 seems high to me. Ballard, Collins, Evangel, maybe even Trinity all have better wins and have had overall better seasons IMO.

It’s all good. We don’t have to see things the same way. His level of class was never part of the discussion and doesn’t speak to their offensive prowess- which was the whole point. Why does everyone fall back on “classiness” whenever a coach is criticized. I did not condemn him to hell. I just think their offense this year sucks and he’s to blame. Not really a controversial statement. Maybe he doesn’t care and wants to grind it out. I gave real numbers. Gave real examples of this years team and colleges interested in the players.

They’ve had 20 real games. Games this year of 44, 48, 48, 39, 50, 42, 47, 47. Sorry- that’s ridiculous. Yes- He’s holding them back. He’s got a point guard with a D1 offer. A 2 guard who has been offered by a top NAIA school. Another guy being looked at by sec schools. How does male put up 60-80 game after game with toughest schedule in state? You can say he has a different strategy but there is no debate- the strategy includes holding people back. Fact. You are a fan and you may say- it helps them win. Just don’t know why a kid would want to play like that…

Interesting take and I generally agree. One improvement for Dallas- he doesn’t “press” to score like his first 4 years. I used to watch him and there were times when the second he got the ball, 90 feet away, he’d have a look and I’d say he’s gonna shoot this trip no matter what- always because he hadn’t shot in 3-4 trips. Now when I say that, I’m wrong much of the time. He’s matured in that respect a bunch IMO

I’ve seen a ton of games this year. The best coached team I’ve seen? Nelson County! Probably wont be winning many KOBs or anything else. Not sure how anyone can watch Trinity and say, dang, they’ve got it going on offensively. That guy really knows what he’s doing! But I would agree with your overall point and think you said it perfectly- Szabo has done “ok”…

It’s all subjective but I’ve seen Trinity play a bunch and they just have a terrible offense- it’s not patience, it’s just bad. Collins- they are patient but usually score more. Trinity does play good d and they grab a ton off the ball. Very very difficult to get open against them. Finally- the philosophy of “I have more talent so we are going to limit possessions” is contrary to what most greats coach’s would preach. Rupp, wooden, Smith, Williams, self, crum, coach k etc. If you have more talent you want more possessions…

NBA game 50% longer. 50% of 47 is 23. So 80-75 ish. Not common at all.

The score would state the talent is bad. Which we all know it’s not. Averaging 11-12 points a quarter per team. That’s 5 baskets per team per quarter tops accounting for FT or 3s. Nice work coaches! Control control control. Limit limit limit. Everyone comes to watch the coaches. Not the players.

The equivalent nba game would be 75-70. Does that happen often? Lol.

Collins also has two kids who transferred from south- one who starts for collins and runs track. I assume neither he or Simmons would play much at south . Not a criticism of south- just an example of how different programs/coaches prioritize different qualities.

They are undoubtedly at the school. They have to be statistically speaking. Certain schools- OC, Collins, prime examples, always seem to have athletes who also play basketball. North clearly focuses a lot on developing athleticism in the off season. A number of other bigger schools have basketball players, who are sometimes coincidentally athletic. It’s probably based on what the coach wants. Word travels fast among kids and they know whether or not to bother trying out. But it’s not the 1970/80s. You HAVE to have athletes to win.

He may be a great coach but SK offensive struggles have happened so many games. I don’t know much about their roster- do they have any football/track go guys who play basketball? Where are the explosive athletes? Surely a school of 1800 must have a couple?

46 points is absolutely inexcusable. Their offensive scheme/game plan/philosophy is really ridiculous…biggest school in region. And one of the least dynamic teams.

I saw snipets. Defense did sit back and didn’t pressure…

He has missed quite a few games against top level teams or marquee tourneys this year…

How does SK not compete more year in year out- wow! It can’t be because everyone goes to cov cat…most of their kids are buckeyes. ??

Interesting- I had no idea grant was upper half size wise. Just assumed they were small. Still smaller than SK, OC, South and Collins and about same as north but now bigger than Shelby County HS. Size definitely matters in regions like this made up of public’s. Bigger school programs have no reason not to be at least competitive every year- Shelby the exception because of the unique situation with Collins.

Agree on Woodford. Have some real athleticism and explosiveness. They just look super chaotic and disjointed at times. I also don’t love their decision making in close games- and there will be close games if you want to win a region. Too inconsistent to win 4 games IMO (1 in district and 3 Region)
