72 teams will be at EKU Saturday competing. Sounds like a great event if you’re trying to scratch that football itch.

Thanks for throwing their names out. They deserve to be recognized. I did not see much of the freshman. They were going the opposite direction and I was focused more on the varsity.

Looked to be two younger guys, sorry I do not know their names. I was very impressed with the lefty; he handled things very well.

Noon had 4 receiving TDs. That WR room is crazy talented with Noon, Benke, Matteoli, Class, Hinegardner, etc. I would have liked to see a little more out of the defense. It’s obviously very early, but I was not all that impressed. Wish I could have seen Bottom throw some. He was there but just hanging out. Maybe saving his arm for Hoover? Overall, a lot of speed and talent at the skill positions for HHS.

Agree or disagree you just answered my question. Thank you. Hopefully, Coach Barth can get the community/player buy in at a higher level and get to the next level. Would love to see another NKY team make a jump.

Question for you... based on the competition he and HHS will be facing in NKY, would it make more sense, or is his skill set applicable (I have not seen him play a single snap; excuse my ignorance), to playing closer to the line of scrimmage in order to have a greater overall impact on the defensive side of the ball? Maybe a strong safety or Rover type player? Obviously, if he is facing a stud WR then lock him up. I will try to find a chance to watch some highlights. As @thegurusaid, a player like this should be all over the field at all times.

I think what JOAT and others are saying is that it is easy motivation for the coach to play the disrespect card. Whether it is true or not, you can play up the idea that “no one is giving you a shot! No one thinks you deserve to be here” narrative and it can go a long way with players.

I am sure that money did play a big role in him leaving; money always talks. However, IMO the future at West is brighter than Colerain. They were actually just ranked number 81 in the country by Maxpreps. Moeller coming in at 65.

Lakota West is one of the biggest up and coming programs in the state of Ohio. The West Chester area is absolutely booming in population. More and more talent moving into that area every single day. I would even go as far as saying that going forward it wouldn't surprise me if LW has more success than Colerain. There is a reason Bolden left Colerain and went to LW.

I agree. I think it ends up being Bottom because of what Noon and Benke bring to the table all over the field. That is not necessarily a knock on Bottom, he is a solid player and I think will do well at QB. But if HHS is putting their best 11 out there (as they should), Benke and Noon need to be playing at all times.

Roller is going to be a great player. If not for hurting his knee last year, IMO he would have gotten a lot of playing time. Great work ethic and has a nasty streak... but he is a Roller so that shouldn't really surprise anyone.

What holes do you anticipate needing to be filled the most?

Lakota West attracts a lot of college attention and has put a lot of kids on college rosters lately. Being coached by Bolden would be a great opportunity too. I can totally understand why it would be a football motivated move.

What does it take for WV to take the next step? Each year I hear that Coach Barth has a lot of talent and the future is bright but it never seems to materialize. What needs to happen for WV to make a deep playoff run?

Between AAU basketball, summer baseball, and college recruiting camps (these are becoming so common for players wanting to play at any level), I would look at everything until after the 4th of July as more of a voluntary time period where if you do not have other sports obligations you should be there for weights, conditioning, etc. After the 4th of July, it is go time.

How did/is the camp going? I hope there was a good turnout.

We usually agree on most things, However… Having a football camp is essential to the development/continuation of a program. It gets kids excited and it motivates and gets kids excited to be a part of something special. It is not just “practice”. Not having a camp because it doesn’t benefit you is not putting the program first. Dale Mueller started the camp over 20 years ago and literally 1000s of kids went and found a desire to be an HHS football player. Brian Weinrich got highly criticized for not doing things “traditional” to the program. I find it interesting that the current staff is not held to the same standard.

I am shocked the camp is happening but really happy it is for the kids.

Translation: Drew is going to play a lot of football for us but it won’t be at QB.

Great outing by senior Abe Hils. He is been very consistent all year. HHS' pitching staff doesn't have a lot of star power like they have in the past, but they have 4-5 "Steady Eddies" that could really help them make a run at the region. Loved to see Hendrix with the big 3-run bomb too!

HHS has been beat up on the last 5-7 years by teams that they usually would never have been beat by. Not the norm. They want revenge and to get back to normal. Not sure how that is so hard to understand.

The worst era of HHS football in, ya know, forever.
