At this point: the Flyers have questions at key positions i.e. QB. For this reason, I will go with Boyle to still reign supreme. I will say, Franklin Co. has made some tremendous improvements within their program. Their upgraded facilities are first class! I believe the Flyers will be a serious contenders in the years to come.

Only teacher on the staff is Coach Garland, JV head coach. He is a young offensive mind. Not sure if he is interested or has applied. Coach Bloodworth (O-line coach) has been with the program for years but I doubt he is interested in being HC. All others have full time jobs. I don't see any of them having the time it requires. I could be wrong though...

All for of the four names mentioned sound legit. Coach Duncan is an interesting option. He brings a hard nose, disciplined style of football. He was very successful with the Murray program in the late 00's early 10's. Although, I would not think it would be the right fit now considering what the returning roster shows. Murray is currently a skill heavy team and slim pickings in the trenches. Running a double wing/wing T/wishbone offense may not be their best style currently. Whomever takes the helm has a base to work with. For the players' best interest, a hire needs to happen soon.

Who comes to mind to get come in and get this program going?

I agree with what has been said. LCA and Beechwood are the two favorites. Mayfield will be the favorite out west. With the athletes coming back to help that young squad, I don't see anyone in regions 1 or 2 that will be a threat in 2A. It will depend on you much Mr. Cartwright (Qb) has grown from his sophomore campaign. Another interesting note: LCA & Beechwood have the two toughest non-district schedules in 2A. I do not see both of them going 10-0. If they do, then yes they will be playing in Kroger again. But if either of them slide a game or two, it will be interesting where the RPI will seed them come semis. It could very possible be a sub state game.

Wish them luck!!! I was able to see them grow with the program the last five or so years. Unfortunate for the kids that have been busting their tails all off season to get better with the system that has been put in place. With dead period around the corner, this could not have happened at a worst time IMO

DC took Head Coaching spot in West TN. Head Coach not clear yet.

Congrats to Cam and his full ride offer. There should be more coming IMO. So... Is Cam on top of the list for Mr. KY 2021??

It's impressive the longevity these schools have had over the years! Twitter post states there are 10 KY teams ? Without looking at the list, I can only name 8 Mayfield, Highlands, Paducah Tilghman, Danville, St. X, Male, Bowling Green, Ashland. Who am I missing? And correct me if I'm wrong...

To me, if an athlete is offered during camp, they have been following him/her for a while. Seeing them workout in person may be just to confirm the offer. I would say it is somewhat rare that an offer would come just be presented out of the blue. I would also add that exposure for prospects is key! With the amount of resources available for athletes now a days, (social media, film, camps, etc.) they more the prospect can get involved in, the better. Caleb Perry is a great example of this and Congratulations to the young man!!!

With the recent success McLean has had, I would think their scheduling would be a bit more challenging. I think that would better prepare them to compete with OCath in the district.

Charvel McCallister. Started at RB/Corner. He is a bit undersize but tough to bring down. Murray's old school offense did not suit his best traits as runner. He had signed with Missouri Baptist out of St Louis, I believe.

Does this mean Kylan has to give his diploma back? Saw him walk at graduation this past Saturday. This is huge for Mayfield, both Tre and Kylan will give them a great boost on both sides of the ball. Kylan played hurt for most of the season bothered by a nagging ankle injury that limited his production. Saw him couple of weeks ago and he looks good to go!

Not exactly sure if KY is the only state. I remember hearing Texas, Florida, and New Jersey were considering it in late March.

?? They are getting a heck of a running back from the WKY area. Just found out his family is moving to the Louisville area and he will be exercising the 5th year to replay his senior season. Rumors are his younger bother (good athlete) may join in on the fun as well.

Great opportunity for this athlete to finish his education. For this reason, I am 100% in favor. Everything else, not so much. I also agree that the NCAA has created a mess. How can it allow college athletes to take advantage of the decision and limiting/punishing high school kids to do the same. I can be certain that if the NCAA ruled not to put in place this "covid redo rule", not a single state would consider also doing it.

Question: Is there other places in Kentucky that is similar in size as Hopkinsville where they have consolidated into just one county school? If so, how did that work out in terms of sports? Here in WKY, Graves and McCracken consolidated but there is also a city school (Mayfield, Paducah). I understand consolidating makes sense from a financial aspect to the county. I don't like the fact that less kids will have an opportunity to engage in sports and/or academic teams.

I would be brave enough to say that this happens ("jack up a shot") in about 1/4 of possession today all ready. And that is a conservative number. Kids will adapt. Whether is for the good or the game or not, time will tell. Never said that I agree/disagree with the motion. Wonder what the conversations were years ago when they implemented a three point shot??

Is there any info on what the average possession is in KY high school ball? Interested to see those numbers. Up-tempo/stall ball is a matter of preference and make up of the team's ability. Regardless, I think kids/coaches would adapt towards a shot clock if it was implemented.

I would have to agree! I wish nothing but the best for young Cam. He, and many other athletes around the state, is taking advantage of an opportunity that presented itself. He and his family are hoping for a better future!! No one can be mad at that. Is it unfair for everyone else, Maybe. Do I agree with the ruling, ABSOLUTY NOT. But my frustration will not be on these kids for taking advantage of the opportunity the higher ups allowed!! I believe the age restriction is still the same for all HS sports. Right? So we aren't going to have 20 year old playing 15,16 year old kids. Again, hats off for Cam and his family to give up a year of his time to attempt for a better future! I hope it works out for him. Time will tell.

With this decision: is Cooper able to transfer to a school that does allow it??
