We have played nine games so far and eight of them have been running clock victories. How awake does Mayfield need to be?

I hate this. This young man was a weapon for the Tigers. Last year we played Beechwood in Ft. Mitchell and I heard the guy on the PA rave about the hamburgers that they were selling in the concession area…He said something to the effect of “…its the best burger in the area…” He was not paying attenton to the game because the best burger in the area was playing on the field that night, but spelled B-E-R-G-E-R. We had no answer for him. Tough loss.

This is the first of three district games that should be running clock victories for Mayfield. JV played the entire second half. Alot of credit to the Fort Campbell Falcons who presented a special gift to every football player and cheerleader on Mayfield’s team. It was done as a symbol of support as Mayfield tries to rebuild from the tornado. That was a class move and appreciated by all the people of Mayfield.

These rankings today do not reflect reality. FT Campbell is NOT the 14th best team in 2A one spot above LCA. That is hilarious.

I believe you are overreaching on that comment. Mayfield and Paducah are bitter rivals, and the big blue had all their chips in the middle of the table in that game. Mayfield still won despite losing three key players to injury.

Mayfield takes care of business from the jump. Cardinals completely overwhelmed the Lakers in every phase of the game. Junior varsity played the entire second half and some of the first.

I agree, Mustangs get the win in this one. Marshalls have beat up on two really bad 1A teams, and an inept Calloway Co team.

Starks got hurt on the touchdown run. Didn’t look too serious from where I was sitting, but haven’t heard anything official on it.

The injury to Starks did not appear to be all that serious. We had a big lead and so I'm sure they kept him out as a precaution. As to Jax returning, that would be incredible if he could, but i have heard no official word yet.

Final from Marquette Stadium. Mayfield was pressed into using some really young players due to the injuries sustained last week. To the Mustangs credit, they went after those young guys and scored some points. Mayfield also lost the starting running back, Starks, during the game. No word yet as to how severe the injury.

I thought that Lamb played a good game and the running back (#18) ran really hard. But it is also true that Mayfield was playing with several JV players because of the injuries suffered in the Tilghman war.

The official word has not been issued, but the unofficial word is that he is out for the year…high school football is over for him.

That is so true. Not alot that we can do about it but just stay as focused as possible. Tilghman win will help us, but will it be enough to make the top two in the RPI?

Mayfield should take care of business and get it done with whoever it is that is healthy enough to play. Last week with Tilghman was an all out war and we won the game, but at what price? Huge blow to the Cardinals to lose Rogers. But even without him, Mayfield wins by 3 touchdowns.

Paducah is really good! They brought everybody to that the game last night, and were driven by sixteen years of frustration to beat the Cardinals. In the process took out our best player in the first quarter, and two other starters before games end. But Mayfield still found a way to win. that's what good teams do. This was old school Mayfield/Tilghman rivalry football. Win or lose, it was good to see. Go Big Red

The refs did not throw one intrception last night, but PT did. The refs did not lose their composure, but PT did. Stop with all the “blaming the refs” stuff. Are you kidding me? Mayfield has had more than their share of bad calls…especially AT PADUCAH! (credit card game?)

Yes, we have won sixteen in a row, but most of us here in Mayfield still have great respect for the Big Blue. It’s just better when PT is really good, or that’s the way that I see it. Now, I’m picking the Cardinals to win this year, but Paducah needs to win one pretty soon. Who knows, maybe this is the year? Mayfield 35 Paducah 21

Graves had one drive that got deep in Mayfield territory, but the Eagles were helped by a late hit penalty and a pass interference penalty. Other than that, they never sniffed the redzone. I thought Graves defensive line played well at times, and I like their new quarterback. This one could have been alot worse on the scoreboard, but the multitude of penalties kept that from happening. Cardinals have to improve in that area for sure.

I'm also taking PT in this one by 2 touchdowns. To the point made on the Mayfield-Tilghman rivalry, PT has not won in SIXTEEN years. None of the kids in the Paducah school system from K-5 to 12th grade know what it is like to beat Mayfield. That will cool any fan base. I like the rivalry, so PT needs to win one against the Cardinals or it will fade as a great rivalry.
