I hope KHSAA gets the kinks worked out up in NKY regarding 6 high school teams in one district. It poses a disadvantage regarding the RPI ratings having to play all the teams in that one district vs. rest of 2A districts only having 4 teams. Also felt Mayfield having to play against LCA in 3rd round was not right, in a perfect setting it would have been great to see all top four teams battle in the semi’s against each other.

Ocath QB is the best of the 3.” I understand that’s your opinion and his stats show how well he’s played this season, but probably not the best post to debate what QB is better than all 3 QB’s for each team, that will come in due time. Especially if OC’s QB has a great game vs. Mayfield.

@JB after Beechwood scrimmaged Cooper early in the season it was obvious after the scrimmage how good Cooper would be this season. Very happy for the Jags, three (3) road wins against tough teams in the playoffs and won each of them. I hope they get the respect now that they deserve.

It’s a big win for Mayfield tonight. Best of luck next week at Kroger Field. Tough loss for the Beechwood team and for the Seniors. Beechwood will regroup and be back in the hunt next year!

It Ryle and Cooper High Schools could combine as one team I think NKY would have a stronger chance of winning a 6A State Title.

It would have also been great to have the TOP four 2A teams play this week vs. how last week turned up with Mayfield and LCA playing in the 3rd round. IMO……this weekend between Mayfield and Beechwood feels more like a State Championship for 2A Football.

IMO….When this seasons all over win or lose for both teams, I hope KHSAA gets the 2A Districts set up better. Beechwood playing in a district with two additional schools vs. other 2A Districts having less of a number of schools hurts them in the RPI. A portion of their starters including the QB only get to play half of a game. This week it will be nice to see Beechwood’s QB play a full game.

Corbin vs. Boyle……that should be a state championship game, how’d they get set up to play in the next round?

Best of Luck to both teams this week. I hope everyone stays healthy on each side of the ball. Also, Hayden’s stats are impressive, especially when half of his season he’s only played about 2 quarters per game. Does anyone have stats how his minutes and quarters match up to the other top QB’s in the State?

Don’t count Cooper out, if Jags defense has a good game they’ll win because the offense is that good. They are better than what their record shows. Go Jags! Play with a chip on your shoulder, people outside of NKY give you no respect.

I’m surprised Cooper does not have a higher RPI, regardless what their rated they are better than what many know or hear about if you haven’t watched them play. Cooper’s game could of gone either way vs. Highlands this season. As for their loss to 6A Ryle, I can’t share anything besides the game could go different in Win/Loss column if they played again. Watch out for Cooper in the post season, they are better than what their ranking shows. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball as well. The defense just needs to step up more to match their high powered offense.

I’m interested to see where this conversation goes, even if Beechwood had the opportunity to play Highlands and won the old Bluebird faithfuls would argue until their blue in the face that it was flawed or that Highlands was still the best ever! Cov Cath beat Beechwood earlier this season, but even their own following would tell you offline that they barely got by in that game, especially if Beechwood would have changed a thing or two on the last few series of downs. Regardless who feels their team is better or not, I sure hope NKY fans pull together to cheer on all of our NKY teams during playoff time and bring State Championships back to NKY.

Not knowing much about OC nor their season schedule, have they played tough competition this season or are they just that good? It seems they have some really good players that do well on both sides of the ball. Will N. Hardin give them a game?

I love how BW fans stay humble and stay out of these conversations as many on this string give them no chance. Win or lose only time will tell.

Fryman is set to graduate in 2027 at the right age vs. graduate in 2026 at 17yr old. He’s in the right grade as a freshman.

It would nice to see Highlands and Beechwood play each other at the varsity / jv level. Maybe the schools would consider doing so in the future.

If all of Beechwood’s top players had played every Freshman game this season you may not of asked the question.

My opinion with Flip or no flip, LCA is best team in 2A with Beechwood close in at 2nd where they’ll have to prove themselves again whether it be in the Semi’s or in the State 2A Championship. What I love is that Beechwood has been there before so many times and they just play regardless if Beechwood fans chime in or not, they just let the play speak for itself. The end of the season will tell all!

LCA is the real deal this season and regardless of what RPI shows they should be #1.

I wonder if Beechwood would of played a team from Kentucky vs. Ohio early in the season where would the numbers fall for them then. It’s also too bad Beechwood didn’t beat Cov Cath to help boost their RPI, they had the opportunity to do so, but ran out of gas playing so many players both ways.

Kudos to both teams last night, both great programs! It’s good to have local rivalries regardless who may be playing one another here in Northern Kentucky. Turning the page I hope all Northern Kentucky teams and fans pull together for each other and support each respective team here in Northern Kentucky from Class 1A thru Class 6A. Northern Kentucky has a lot to offer this Fall going into state playoffs and let’s hope we have as many schools from Northern Kentucky representing us at Kroger Field for state championships. Again, Thank you Beechwood and Cov Cath for a fun night of Football.
