  1. I haven't seen Boyle play in person. But looking at their scores, and statistics, it looks like they are just not a very good shooting team. So far they are at 38.3% from the field, 28.3% from three, and 57% from the line. I know they have athletes, but it looks like they have to get some easy buckets out of their defense to overcome their overall poor shooting. I would say that they have the talent to beat anyone in the 12th Region when their shots are falling, but it is hard to see them beating 3 quality opponents in a row in the Regional Tournament with those shooting numbers.
  2. Final from Mt. Vernon. Somerset led most of the game and stretched out the lead to the final 20 point margin in the 4th quarter. Somerset moves to 10-3, 4-0 in District 47. The Rockets fall to 8-5, 1-2 in the District. Nice road win for the Briar Jumpers.
  3. Also from ESPN. Perhaps it wasn't completely updated. I apologize for being off by a couple of hundred yards on the totals. I'll strive to do better in 2024 to meet your, thorough, meticulous, exacting standards.
  4. One a side note, Iowa Punter Tory Taylor broke the single season record for most punting yards. It had stood for 84 years. Taylor had 4138 punting yards. By comparison, Iowa as a team only had about 3100 yards rushing and receiving combined.
  5. They just like to pick on the large percentage of UK basketball fans that are also die hard Alabama fans....and it is a significant number of UK basketball fans that became big Alabama fans around 2007...
  6. Is this a football game or a basketball game? Defensive struggle.
  7. Your numbers are way off concerning the FCS wins: 2013 the win against Alabama St was an FCS win, the win against Miami, OH was an FBS win. 2014 only the Tennessee Martin win was against an FCS team. Ohio, Louisiana-Monroe, Vanderbilt and South Carolina were all FBS wins. 2015 only EKU was an FCS team. Louisiana-Lafayette, South Carolina, Missouri and Charlotte were all FBS teams. 2016 only Austin Peay was an FCS team. New Mexico State, Louisville, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Missouri were all FBS teams. 2017 only EKU was an FCS team. Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt were all FBS teams. 2018 only Murray State was an FCS team. Central Michigan, Florida, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Middle Tennessee, Louisville and Penn State were all FBS teams. 2019 only UT-Martin was an FCS team. Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Louisville and Virginia Tech were all FBS teams. 2020 no FCS teams. All games were against SEC teams except the win against NC State in the bowl game. 2021 only Chattanooga was an FCS team. Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, LSU, Vanderbilt, Louisville, and Iowa were all FBS teams. 2022 only Youngstown State was an FCS team. Miami(OH), Florida, Northern Illinois, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Louisville were all FBS teams. 2023 only EKU was an FCS team. Ball State, Akron, Vanderbilt, Florida, Mississippi State and Louiville were all FBS teams. So in his tenure, 10 wins have come against FCS teams, not 28. That's 13.6% of his wins, not 38.3%.
  8. Except for that exceptional 4 year run that Pulaski had, Somerset has had much more success than Pulaski during Hines tenure there. And Somerset doesn't have to deal with another school in their own system drawing players from the same talent pool. Somerset also had it's own youth league, and a very solid middle school program as well.
  9. It would be tough to not open the transfer portal until after the Championship game. This year the Championship is played on January 8th. Classes start at UK on the same day. That would make it really tough to get everything done and get moved in time for spring practice. But I love the idea of tying the NIL money to finishing the season.
  10. LCA could be too high, or too low. Their roster makeup is a little more fluid than most schools. But I would have to think they will be somewhere in the 3-5 range.
  11. There's a big difference in the way you presented it and him being one of 4-5 that did it.
  12. Pete Carroll is waiting for you on line 1. He'd like to discuss winning an NCAA championship and a Super Bowl.....
  13. I was a freshman in the 84-85 season when Somerset was in the tourney. We defeated Eastern, led by Felton Spencer, before dropping 2 close games to PRP and Doss. Dobbins Tech, that won the tourney that year, was led by the late Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble who both went on to star at Loyola Marymout. I also remember the St. Raymond's, NY had a 1 armed player that year. It was a great experience.
  14. I'm out of town for work, so I didn't get to go to the game and watched it online. Why was a whole section of the bleachers opposite the benches taped off?
  15. Final from Pulaski County. Somerset gets the road victory to improve to 6-1, and 3-0 in the district. Pulaski drops their first game and is also 6-1, but 1-1 in the district. Two evenly matched teams, I believe the biggest lead that either had all night was 4 or 5 points.
  16. I don't think it's the content of the message as much as the timing and the venue. An end of season banquet, when you should be saying goodbye to your seniors isn't really the place to make a speech about how good you are. After the players lost a teammate during spring practice to not acknowledge him while scolding the parents just doesn't sit right for a lot of people.
  17. Every parent, that I have talked to, said that Pulaski contested their child's transfer. I haven't talked to nearly every parent of a transfer, but every one that I have talked to gives the same story.
  18. The Superintendent of Pulaski County Schools has a son on the team. So he definitely was party to the whole thing. We'll see pretty quickly what kind of man he is.
  19. Something ironic about that speech: He tells the parents and players that if they don't like the way he does things to go somewhere else and he wishes them the best. But if any athlete tries to transfer from Pulaski, the administration fights their eligibility every step of the way.
  20. Pulaski County has lost 6 in a row, and 8 out of the last 9 to Southwestern. That can't have the parents/boosters happy. To exacerbate things, when Johnny Hines resigned a few years back to take a job at Georgetown, a large percentage of Pulaski supporters wanted Jason Foley to take his place. Hines decided to come back to Pulaski and Foley ended up at Southwestern. Since then the Warriors have owned the Maroons.
  21. Foul trouble and an off night shooting had the Jumpers in trouble for most of the game. Absher, Coomer and Godby hit some big threes in the 4th quarter to mount a furious comeback, and that game winner from Godby was cold blooded. Good win for the Jumpers on a night that they weren't hitting on all cylinders.
  22. I already had a thread on this if a mod wants to combine them.
