  1. You're the one that called Somerset a glass house. Either they are a little bit tougher than you gave them credit for. or Christian County didn't have enough rocks. The Tigers had scored an even 100 points against: Mayfield. Cooper, Frederick Douglass and Henderson County. Only Frederick Douglass and South Warren had held the Tigers to 7 points or less. Somerset still has to clean up their penalties, and figure out their punt/kick coverages before they host Danville in Round 2 of the playoffs.
  2. Christian County just didn't have enough stones to break Somerset's glass house tonight.
  3. 13-7 will be the final score. Somerset wins.
  4. Somerset's defense front just stoned the Tigers on that 4th and 3 play.
  5. Somerset's kickoff and punt coverage is just abysmal.
  6. 30 yard field goal by Carroll this time.
  7. A Julian Carroll 25 yard field goal makes it 10-0 Somerset in the 2nd quarter.
  8. 42 yard touchdown pass from Guy Turner to Xavier Wooldridge on that touchdown.
  9. Somerset Campbell County Monroe County Bethlehem Walton Verona Oklahoma Tiebreaker 51
  10. Good pickup for Danville. Much better than Caverna. Danville has advanced much quicker than expected. I'm sure they wouldn't have scheduled Caverna at all of they had known that they would immediately be competitive under Stonebreaker.
  11. Somerset (8-1) makes the long trip to Hopkinsville to take on Christian County (3-5) in a game that is huge for Somerset's RPI. The Briar Jumpers are coming off a district title clinching win at Monroe County. Although the final score of the game was 41-14, Somerset didn't play particularly well against the Falcons. The Jumpers had over 150 yards in penalties and struggled defensively in the first half against the short passing game of Monroe. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime before Somerset scored 27 unanswered points in the 2nd half. Christian County is coming off of a huge 24-21 win against McCracken County. Although the Tigers record is only 3-5, don't be fooled, they are a solid football team. The combined record of the teams that have defeated Christian County is 38-10. The Tigers are playing at home and Somerset will have a 3 hour bus ride to Hopkinsville. If the Jumpers get off to a sluggish start this week, they will quickly find themselves in a hole. Who wins this one and why?
  12. Scott County has surrendered 180 points to Woodford County in the 4 meetings between the teams from 2024-26. That's 45 points a game. Unless the Cardinals quit steadfastly refusing to play defense against the Yellow Jackets, I don't see things changing much.
  13. Somerset takes a knee on the Monroe County 3 yard line and runs out the clock. Somerset wins 41-14 and clinches the #1 seed in the district. They will have to be much better next week and in the playoffs.
  14. Somerset is racking up the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties as the lead grows. Not a good look for the Jumpers. Somerset has to be over 150 yards in penalty yardage.
  15. Corban Cimala with a 2 yard touchdown run for Somerset, 41-14 now in the 4th quarter.
  16. LaRue County just running it down a very soft, poor-tackling Glasgow defense.
  17. Somerset stops a Monroe County fake punt attempt and score 3 plays later. The Briar Jumpers lead the Falcons 34-14 with about 10 minutes to go in the game.
  18. Somerset seems to have awakened in the second half. Briar Jumpers lead 27-14 with a minute to go on the 3rd quarter.
  19. Tied at 14 at halftime. Somerset's kickoff coverage is just awful.
  20. Upset alert? Somerset only leads 14-7 with 38 seconds to go in the first half. Monroe County has it 2nd and goal from the 5.
  21. No such thing as an uncatchable rule in HS football. If it's an eligible receiver and their attempt to catch the ball is impeded it's interference.
  22. Scott County Campbell County Kentucky Country Day Dayton Oklahoma Tiebreaker 72
  23. With all that the Ads have went through in the last week, I'd really like to see them pull off the win. But if their defense gave up 42 to Knox Central, 26 to Washington County, and 29 to Anderson County, I can't see them holding LCA under 40. The Ads will score some points, but I think the Eagles will be too much. LCA 49, Danville 21.
