  1. Sorry--one more question -- does it change your mind about the score--knowing that NCC intentionally gave up a safety for those 2 points?
  2. Yes -- you have. And this post, while quoting you, is/wasn't meant as a shot in your direction. No harm/bad thoughts intended there. When I read that a few weeks ago--I liked your logic and I felt where you were coming from. I truly believe there is a difference as you stated. So again, no bad thoughts there. I did mean to shed a little light as to a few things that happened -- meaning NCC made a few intentional decisions that directly contributed to 70 total points. If I were an NCC fan -- I would be more interested in the points that were intentionally given up -- then the ones that were scored honestly, on the first field by the first team up until the 2nd series of the 2nd half -- and the rest that were scored by 2nd, 3rd, 4th string Beechwood players.
  3. If 70 is the magic number -- then someone has to ask NCC why they gave Beechwood the easy 2 points on the safety at the end of the 1st quarter -- which, I am sure everyone was completely surprised again, when Beechwood scored off the gift of field position -- which also resulted from the excellently thought out safety. Point the finger where you will -- but NCC was apparently in the giving mood this evening. Whether it be 2 points, or great field position, etc. So -- lets call it 68 to 7 as opposed to 70 to 7. Is there really a difference? I don't know -- but when the other team hands you 2 points -- you can't give it back -- even if it makes the score look better. And since we are bringing facts to the argument -- as someone already stated -- Beechwood didn't go for two -- bad snaps and pressure some times cause a team to scramble around and have to make a football play. Is it Beechwood's fault that NCC gave good pressure? Or forced a slow snap? But--I guess it is Beechwood's fault that, when the holder ran around for 11.2 seconds -- he just happened to throw the ball to one of the two Beechwood players standing by their selves in the endzone. So fire at will -- but at the end of the day -- if I were an NCC fan -- I would be a little more worried about how we are going to win with "championship football" in Class A -- when we give teams free points -- and leave big tall dudes standing in the endzone all by their selves on PAT's.
  4. I’m curious, did anyone from NCC complain when they scored 69 on Ludlow?
  5. They had at least 10 when Beechwood played them. It sounds like the same Dixie team everyone else has played this year.
  6. I’d say it’s a good chance you will see all of the freshman suited up on Friday nights once the playoffs start.
  7. They are 2 totally different QBs. Hergott was a scrambler and playmaker much like he is now. Hayden is a pure pocket passer with a very strong arm for his age, and he stands in the pocket and takes some big hits while delivering throws down field. He doesn’t bring the dual threat capability that Hergott does, but he Is very knowledgeable about coverages and where to go with the football and is not afraid to throw into tight windows. He has also been playing QB for the JV team and he has thrown for 500 yards and 9 TDs in the last 2 JV games.
  8. The freshman have plain helmets and the sophomores have decals on them.
  9. As far as the number of good skill position players I would say this may be the best. The QB can flat sling it, and he has multiple weapons to throw it to and Flaherty is a very good RB, but Beechwood has had some really good freshman teams, so it’s hard to say if this is the best ever, but they are certainly in the conversation.
  10. That was an awful call, really wasn’t even close to being a pick, and they somehow thought taking the ball away from the WR after he landed in the end zone with possession of the ball, was an INT.
  11. My thought -- you guys should good. A lot of strange things need to happen for it to even be a possibility.
  12. They didn’t have enough for a full 2nd team, but Newport had a couple of players that should have been pulled and never put back in. Last night was about as bad as I’ve ever seen with all of the personal fouls and extra curricular stuff. The player that absolutely cheap shotted Parker Mason when he was looking up to catch the punt, should have not been back on the field again. They had to have at least 8-9 personal fouls last night.
  13. The Cards need to load up the wagons for Ft. Mitchell!!!!!!!
  14. So I will say it again ... are you sure you are doing it right? If what you say is correct--are you saying the KHSAA is not following the published calculation methodology? I could be wrong ... -- but I think you may be missing something.
  15. Are you sure? Am I not reading this correctly? The KHSAA has adopted for its RPI using the following final calculation: WPVAL shall be .35 (or 35 percent) OWPVAL shall be .35 (or 35 percent) OOWPVAL shall be .30 (or 30 percent) https://khsaa.org/rpi-calculation-steps/
  16. No -- not necessarily directed at you -- more like directed at anyone/everyone. I feel like it is going to be extremely close either way -- just like you said -- we won't know until the dust settles.
  17. Quarterback Ratings for some of the QBs on this list and other top tier QBs in the state when using the NCAA formula. 1. Cam Hergott 251.56 2. Brady Clark 231.73 3. Jagger Gillis 184.37 4. Samuel Cornett 184.33 5. Caden Veltkamp 182.42 6. Joe Humphreys 178.23 7. Isaac McNamee 173.79 8. Jake Sivori 150.52 9. Cole Pennington 136.61
  18. I think that everyone is forgetting about Opponents and their wins ... which is part of the reason why Beechwood made a nice jump this past week. Will McCracken, Paducah Tilghman, Hopkinsville win all of the rest of their games? Will Cov Cath, Dixie Heights, Simon Kenton win their games? Who knows? The only thing that I know for sure ... is that anyone that says it is one way or the other ... is guessing at this point. Way too many pieces to fall into place still.
  19. 100% correct!!! I talked about the issues that Beechwood, Mayfield, LCA, Pikeville, etc. will face going forward as they try to fill out schedules in a previous thread about this topic. Something has to be done to address the issues with the RPI system.
  20. Cooper by 14, but if Highlands brings the elephant tusk, Cooper by 10.
  21. There are no 6A scrubs lining up to play Beechwood. Scheduling for Beechwood is always tough, and the RPI is making it extremely tough to find willing dance partners that make sense.
  22. I guess Highlands has a shot against Cooper, but what I saw tonight was bad football from both teams. For a big rivalry game, it was certainly lacking emotion and excitement.
