  1. I will not be shocked if St. X wins this game, but will be very surprised if Sekou Kalle does not have a big night against an undersized St. X front line.
  2. Ben Johnson with 51 points (and a technical) for Lexington Catholic. George Washington with 36 for CAL.
  3. Bardstown’s preseason ranking was a stretch. Some voters may have thought JJ Traynor was still playing! Their leading scorer Javon Smith has only played two games.
  4. Pretty impressive win for South, although Henry County with a limited Hardin is a different team.
  5. Did he test today after last night’s game, or did the result come back from an earlier test? That could make a difference to the other players & refs.
  6. Another big night for CAL’s George Washington. 30+ points. This game was close throughout. Bardstown went for the win with a 3 attempt as the clock expired.
  7. Per this morning's Courier-Journal, North Oldham turned the ball over a lot in their loss to Jeffersonville. How did Oldham County look against Highlands? Haven't seen much on that game other than Oldham was up early.
  8. I predict Trinity keeps it close but CovCath pulls out a win. Not a ton of size on Trinity's roster. Trinity has developed a tendency to get behind in games then storm back late.
  9. I think Trinity’s defense will be the key tonight. They don’t want a repeat of Nic Mosley’s outburst in last year’s game. If Hodge and Trinity can lock down Varga, St X will have to find others who can step up and score. That may be difficult for X.
  10. It was either for dunking in warmups or not wearing a mask. Anyone have any color on this?
  11. Excellent question, but one that will probably not be asked at a JCPS board meeting.
  12. With Trinity looming on Tuesday, I suspect Mudd sits this game out to be fully recovered. This could be a game Boyle County wins if they can contain Ben Varga.
  13. CM - If this game is a "flat out war", it will resemble the Anglo-Zanzibar War of 1896 (supposedly the shortest war of all time). I see Oldham County's depth, experience, and size overwhelming the Dragons this time around.
  14. I wouldn't call CAL a defense-oriented team. They've given up 86, 84 and 94 in their losses.
  15. I see St. X winning this one comfortably. Not sure Walton-Verona has someone who can match up against Mudd. The Tigers don't have a ton of size, but their kids are strong and could overpower with W-V with their depth. I also think this is is a step up in competition for W-V.
  16. I think Walton Verona was originally scheduled to play one of the Oldhams on Wednesday.
