ColonelMike Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Seneca (1-0) travels to Buckner to take on Oldham County (3-1) Thursday. The game starts at 7:30 pm ET. Free live video coverage begins at 7 pm ET on www.pegasussportsky.com Oldham County showed some rust, but shook it off early in a 15 point victory over Collins on Tuesday. The Colonels' inside game was clicking, and Oldham dominated on the glass with Xander Wagner-Rose posting a double-double (15 points / 14 rebounds). Tyler Slone had 17 points; he's led the Colonels in scoring in all 4 of their games. It was the Colonels' first game since 1/22/21. Seneca finally got to play their first game of the year, and handled Atherton easily behind a strong full court pressure "D". It will be interesting to see how two pressing teams handle each other's defense on Thursday! CM
ColonelMike Posted February 3, 2021 Author Posted February 3, 2021 Curious to see how Seneca's press affects Oldham; Collins tried to press the Colonels last night and it really didn't have much of an effect. Oldham handled it well, even when the Titans switched presses.
4 Quarters Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 This game will be a very good test for both teams. I'll give a slight nod to OC since their at home.
ConverseAllStar Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Seneca led at St X all game tonight before losing the lead with 3 seconds left. OC’s size will be a challenge for Seneca. How tightly the game is called will also have an impact, especially with two pressing teams.
Tigerpride94 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Seneca is very quick but OC size can give them problems down low. I think it will be competitive game.
ColonelMike Posted February 4, 2021 Author Posted February 4, 2021 Looks like Seneca is trying to catch up in the "games" department quickly, with two games already under their belts this week, and a third tomorrow night (Thursday). They won't be too far behind Oldham in this regard; this will be just the Colonels' fifth game of the year. I'm looking forward to watching this one! It will be a good thing Pegasus will have one of its senior cameramen on duty as this will be a fast-moving game.... 😆 Good test for two teams whose players may not yet be in the "basketball-condition" they'll have to be in to play the style of ball both coaches want... In watching games to date, that's been the tell-tale of the teams with minimal games... Free live video begins tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7 pm ET www.pegasussportsky.com 1
ColonelMike Posted February 4, 2021 Author Posted February 4, 2021 The Oldham County court prior to the Oldham - Seneca game.... (JV in progress as of this time with OC leading, 27-12 with 3:13 to play in the first half.) Free video coverage of the varsity game starts in 42 minutes at 7 pm ET on www.pegasussportsky.com Game starts at 7:30
ColonelMike Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 Incredible pace....I'm going to have difficulty getting many updates out. End of one....Oldham County 20 Seneca 14
ColonelMike Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 OLdham had built an 11 point lead at 31-20, but Seneca on an 8-0 run, with a deuce and a pair of threes....>Colonels struggling against the quick hands of Seneca... 8 OC turnovers in the 2nd period 2:37 left in the half
Tigerpride94 Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Seneca feeds off turnovers. I think Seneca needs to get more shots for Delshawn Simms.
ColonelMike Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 Colonels match their largest lead with 7:12 to play after a foul and a technical on Seneca Sam Campbell hits all four FTs to make it 60-49. TIMEOUT Oldham ball when we return
ColonelMike Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 1:57 left Seneca playing tough all the way to the end OC ball - timeout OC 70 Seneca 57
