I have a feeling people across the state will have a much better appreciation for Sam Vinson after this week.

I have little knowledge of Muhlenburg, but I would say the larger floor has to favor the Birds, their shooters, and driving lanes for Mr. Vinson. If the Birds are hitting, and I know the shooting background can take awhile to get used to, they will be tough to beat. Give me the Birds by 11. I don’t know why, seems like a good number.

Championship Day in the 9th!!! Who takes the crown in this matchup? Highlands won the regular season contest 78-75 after storming back from a double-digit first half deficit. Do the Cougars get revenge and a trip to Rupp or does Highlands and MR. Vinson bring the first regional title back to the Fort in 2 decades. I'll start and take the Birds by 8. It will be interesting to see how the Cougars plan to defend Highlands. Do they zone and hope Muller, Barth, and Herald all have an off night with the hope of limiting Sam's impact on the game? Do they lock down the shooters and do what they can with Sam? Give me the team with the best player on the court this time of year, and that is Highlands.

I ain’t the smartest man in the world, but I can count.....there was one or two more people there last night than the announced and/or allowed 750, and it was awesome.

In another state top 10 matchup, the Birds look for revenge against St. Henry. The first matchup was a high scoring affair with Highlands blowing nearly a 20 point second half lead and losing on one of the most bizarre endings you will ever see (honestly you have to see it to believe it). Game time is 6:00 at Holmes with the winner heading to the 9th Region final. One thing is for certain, a very distinguished career will come to an end tomorrow, Vinson or Vieth, and the other will continue the run to Rupp. Who you got and why?

I wouldn’t call 20-5 average, a notch below the other 3, sure, definitely not average.

I have been around NKY basketball for about 10 years now, there have been some loaded regions. The Holmes, Cov Cath, New Cath years come to mind, Cov Cath and Cooper rivalry; but has there been a deeper one? Legitimately 4-5 teams could make noise at the state level. I know there have been years where the top team in the region may have been more dominant, but man, this is a deep year.

Agree. If Highlands is hitting from outside, they can beat anyone. First game against CovCath they shot 27% from 3. On the year they are closer to 43%. Was that Highlands off night or Cov Cath defense? I hope we get to find out Wednesday.

Great game in Latonia. Holy Cross stormed to a double digit lead only to see the Birds storm back in the second half and take the lead for good in the 4th. Lots of offensive firepower in the gym tonight.
