Highlands vs. St. Henry Predictions/Updates (9th region semi-finals)

In another state top 10 matchup, the Birds look for revenge against St. Henry.  The first matchup was a high scoring affair with Highlands blowing nearly a 20 point second half lead and losing on one of the most bizarre endings you will ever see (honestly you have to see it to believe it).

 

Game time is 6:00 at Holmes with the winner heading to the 9th Region final.  One thing is for certain, a very distinguished career will come to an end tomorrow, Vinson or Vieth, and the other will continue the run to Rupp.  Who you got and why?

Who:  Birds

Why:  St. Henry had to play their hearts out Monday night going toe to toe with the 9th Region Beast.  Exhausting all their efforts to topple them to win.  Birds were hitting a shot it felt like every trip down the court with ease.  I mean seriously I thought I saw Vinson in a leisurely jog going up and down the court at some points.  Every Highlands starter I believe was pulled with 4 min to go in the 3rd Qtr, never to see any more action the rest of the way.

So for this very logical reason I give edge to Highlands!

On another note for you history buffs.  Looked on KHSAA website last night with Cov Cath getting beat I wondered when the last time any of the remaining 4 won the 9th Region.  Well here is the answer:

2011:  Dixie

2003:  St. Henry

2001:  Highlands

1993:  Conner

Firstly, there will be video broadcast on the Colonel Athletic Network for $6 per game. When you go to this site to purchase your ticket, the St.Henry/Highlands game is listed on the "next page" or the 2nd page of options.

Definitely pulling for the CRU, but I think the Birds will be too fresh, will win this, and the subsequent Championship game. I can't believe it has been 20 years since they won a Regional Title with Gino Guidugli and company.
