By culture I mean the basketball only kids, didn’t have these in the past. Have to have these guys in order to be successful. Strength and athleticism usually balances out by high school. Need that skill to be successful. I am very excited for the direction of this program.

Give this team and program some credit. You have been watching Highlands for awhile. This team is different. Kudos to Listerman and staff who have been taking their lumps for years to establish a culture. They may not get out of the region this year, but this program is back to being relevant.

Fact

Birds improve to 7-0.

No disrespect sir, my opinion. I've seen the top 4 all live, 4 is low for Highlands. There is something special about this group. Go watch them, you will see firsthand. I am sure I will get some grief for this, but IMO they are the only team in the 9th with a shot at Cov Cath.

Everyone is sleeping on Highlands. This is a fun team that will put up points. It will take some scoring to beat them. Can’t wait to see them against the top of the 9th region!

Any updates on results or action?

Summit View at Highlands 6th Highlands by 10ish 7th Highlands 15+ 8th Highlands by 8 8th was a great game. 2 solid well coached teams. Carson Class was dominant for Highlands. Finally getting healthy and starting to roll.

Absolute stud! This kid has a bright future.

Highlands can flat out score the ball!

I would say right now, I don’t see many teams playing better than Highlands. One could argue NCC or St. Henry but I’ll take the Birds. Of course, it is early.

The Birds are a fun team to watch!!!

From what I have seen this year in 8th grade, it is wide open. Lots of very good capable teams with no clear favorite. Any of St. Pius, Ockerman, Camp Ernst, Woodland, Highlands (now that they are getting healthy), IHM, and others (sorry if I am missing anyone) have a legit shot at the Region. Should make for a very exciting tournament.

Jack Delagrange did not, everyone else did. Jack is about a week or two away and will help with muscle and athleticism inside.

The Birds open the season with a convincing win. Sam Vinson is legit!!! Had to be close to a triple double tonight. It is going to be a fun year in the Fort!

Sounds like the 8th grade division could be very competitive this year!

Camp Ernst deserved to win. I’m sure Highlands would love another shot at them when they are 100%. Good middle school game between 2 solid teams.

Highlands at Camp Ernst 6th Highlands by a lot 7th Highlands by 15ish 8th Camp Ernst by 1 The 8th grade game featured one of the wildest finishes I have ever seen. Double technical on Camp Ernst bench when up 4 with 3 seconds left after a foul by Highlands. Led to 4 made free throws by Highlands and a chance at buzzer to win the game. Wild...
