He was mentioned as a HFC candidate in the article when the new head coach was annouced at Madison Southern...his name was in the mix with the Spencer position too. Ky Premier...you are probably well informed about what Yeast has told you but kept in the dark about these other positions Yeast has applied for. Good luck to him on what ever he chooses to do...I'm sure he is a quality guy and coach.

Most 1-AA schools don't pay their coaches well at all...unless you are the head coach.

A lot of times coaches in HS are just as qualified...but in college it's who you know and timing...like most places. Some college coaches get sick of the constant turnover, constant moving (sometimes every year), the long hours and very little pay. So HS does look appealing when it comes to stability...well more stable then college.

I hate that...with all the coaching changes this year makes me think high school football is turning into win at all cost attitude. Coaches are/will see that and they will treat it that way...in the end the coaches will care more about winning and losing because they are fearful for their jobs and the players get hurt. This sport that use to teach life lessons will end up teaching the opposite. Just my thoughts. I also echo arrows68....I wish Coach Preston and his family the best.

Plus he is from Ohio. To be honest I don't think it's fair to discuss why he has applied at other positions.

Jefferson County takes their time in processing hires. Same situation with Fairdale and Engstrand...he excepted the job weeks before they hired him...but didn't annouce it until the school system processed him in.

I don't know if he finished as OC or not but Marion started the season in a spread look went 0-2 then went to the wishbone triple and made a good run. I would assume Coach Robbins took over the OC duties from that point on (wishbone change) but I could be wrong.

Sarr...not sure if you are thinking of the same Lawrence County Head coach...Salmon was coach of the year in Kentucky last year...taking a team that went 0-10 his first year to 12-1 his second. Really impressive in my opinion. I've heard nothing but great things about him. He would be a knock out hire if they could get him. Good luck to MS on whoever they get.

He would be a heck of a coach to get...he does a great job with programs that are in shambles or hasn't had success. He would have my vote.

Only if it's a certified position...Head Football Coach isn't a certified position. They don't have to annouce it at all if they wanted to.
