Not always...there are plenty of situations across this state that it doesn't matter who the head coach is they will not be successful due to the one or more of the stake holders that do not buy in. The answer to your original question lies in what I mentioned before...it takes all of them to win a championship at least to be in position to win a championship.

I've said this once on here...it's more than both. It's the head coach, the assistants, the AD, the administration, the parents and the community. They all have to buy in to the head coaches ideas and plan. If these factors are not all in alignment it doesn't matter what the head football coach does. I've seen and experiences this first hand and I understand that it takes a lot to make a program successful...all these resignings and firings this year is due to what I mentioned above not being on the same page. The HFC usually ends being the fall guy. Just my 2 cents.

It makes me think he will choose Alabama, which I wouldn't blame him for going...however I am a UK fan and I hope he chooses the Wildcats. We will see...good luck to the kid.

If I was the Harris kid...I would have to consider the big picture...not the teams in the mix but what is the best fit for him. You got to think...would you go to a school that had a bunch of 3, 4 or even 5 star lineman blocking for you or a bunch of 1s and 2s with maybe one upper level lineman blocking for you. Also, you got to think iron sharpens iron...if he goes to Alabama he will have to step up his game or he won't play. At Kentucky it won't be the case he will probably play right away. But on the flip side of it...he could go down as one of the recruits that tip the scale in UK's favor to start being competitive in the SEC consistently, if that is what he wants to do. But as you know his roots and love for UK doesn't run as deeply as other recruits or he wouldn't have committed to Michigan so early (then de-committed as you know). Just my 2 cents.

If Warren East is such a good job then why did the last coach leave so quickly? How long was he there...like a year or two?

I don't agree with this thread and some of the comments associated with this thread...a lot of times you (the Public) hold the coaches to a high standard but don't realize the demands and expectations that go along with the job. There is a lot of stress and sacrifice that comes with what we do as coaches....especially the head coaches. It makes a person a little frustrated when people throw around the topics about firing someone or they should held at a high standard...you truly don't "get it" until you walk in a head coaches shoes. So please when we respond (this not to one person but to the BGP nation) think about the people we are talking about...they do this for the LOVE of the game....NO ONE DOES IT FOR THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they did, they would get out quick...it takes a special person to be a head football coach at a high school or any level. Here is a thought...lets make topics on how can we help our team...not sure if I have seen one of those. My hats off to those who do the thankless job...I know I appreciate what you do. My hat is also off to Coach Pardue...he is a class act and an over qualified coach for Mercer...Mercer County would be blessed if they get to keep you. Just my 2 cents.
