North Bullitt and McCreary Central are both open and not on the list...which makes the total 47...that has to be the most head football coaching jobs open in one year.

He should have went to the weight meets at North Bullitt or Central Hardin to get his bench press validated. 480 is really hard to believe unless you see it. The record if I am not mistaken for his class is 435.

What I have heard is that they will have school next year...whether or not they field a team is still up in the air. I think it would be poor decision making on their part if they choose not to have a team this late for scheduling reasons...I'm sure there would be at least the district teams with out games not including other games that they scheduled (if they done so). If was to guess they will not field a team in the Fall of 2015...I hope I am wrong.

I hope it is covered in their insurance policy.

That was a homerun hire for Southern...great coach and even better person. Good luck to Coach Gossett and Southern High School football team!

Plus they had a very quality and loyal staff in place there and they rewarded and shown appreciation with being forced out by the super...again that is a mess I would not want to be apart of.

This is what I have gathered...the superintendent forced the head football coach to resign because his son is the QB and the current staff was not running an offense that was showcasing his skill-set (every time I hear the term "showcasing" I want to puke...it screams BIG ME little team). If that is all what is a "Mess" at Carroll County...that is a big mess to deal with. A coach will never be successful having that kind leadership over them.

Hellcats...I think you are taking it personal...he is saying as a general rule the young generation is a me culture...if you look at it he is right...he is right because that is the environment that the administration and parents are fostering for the coaches. If you don't take care of you first who will...not the administration and certainly not the parents.

I didn't know it was that high in the last 5 years. For some reason I thought it was in the high 20s to low 30s. I wonder if their is a significant amount of the same jobs that keep opening up every couple to few years. Maybe a reason to look at the school's administration, athletic administration, school dynamics, etc. I think this is a huge problem we need to solve in a hurry if we want this sport to succeed. This is just too many jobs open every year.

43 Job openings in one year...wow...what is the most in recent times...I would think 43 would smash the previous all time high.

I'm pretty sure Carroll County was a force out...wasn't running a modern enough offense to showcase certain player's talents.

Harry have you made a list on how the jobs came open? I'm curious on who resigned or fired versus getting a job elsewhere or something similar. I would but I haven't kept a close eye on all the coaching changes.
