I was just told by someone who lives near Mclean that they read locally that Mclean is predicting they will upset Mayfield.

I don't like the talk of Mayfield advancing to a game next Friday before they have played the one Friday night this week. That's the kind of mojo that can jack things up.

I'm not sure what is going on during kick off or punt but spotting a team a TD and or good field position every kick/punt is going to hurt Mayfield at the wrong time. Hope they can get that fixed.

Hard to believe at this point that Mayfield can't outscore anyone.

Defense isn't that good this year IMO. The run D so far is not very physical...couple small kids out there. So far Mayfield has been able to outscore what the other teams are putting up. Not sure that can last.

The double tight end set is a nice new wrinkle for Mayfield. Hard to defend.

Don't think Mayfield wins big. However, I would give the slight edge to them for 1. coaching 2. being at home Defense will win this game for Mayfield. I don't think counting on the big play for Mayfield is an option because I don't think that will happen with the PT team speed and I don't think the long ball will be there for Mayfield again with PT speed. This one will be won on defense and Mayfield sustaining drives by moving the chains with short possession catches and the run. Mayfield 20 PT 17

Takeaway. Mayfield is much better when playing both QBs and has to continue to have a good shot at state.

True. Im thinking however the production of the QBs ( how much will they even use both) and WR will hinge on the O line to allow those veterans to perform.

Not sure why Mayfield is ranked at 1 other than being Mayfield and this is a different team returning this year. Lots of talent and size this year but new O line. I do think its a champion caliber team though but will need to be tested to get there. Thoughts?

Easy solution. Don't schedule a huge tourney during the day in mid July in Kentucky. Never should have been scheduled. Wouldnt even plan a fishing trip 30 minutes from here this time of year.

Agree. I'm sure a discount applies for multiple helmets but I went on the website and build a helmet just to see the price and that's what it was back this spring...$1500. i think they will see individual helmet orders from parents perhaps but likely not many at that price.

Some larger size in positions that could allow for some different things on offense. In addition to having so many impactful skilled players that Mayfield could shuffle players in and out without losing any ground.

I believe this will look like a different Mayfield team. I hear height and size in positions not typical for Mayfield. As a result, it will be interesting to see if the playbook gets opened up a little.
