McLean County (8-3) rolls into Mayfield following scoring outputs of 72 and 62 points the past two weeks. Putting up those numbers on Webster County and Ballard Memorial is one thing, doing it at War Memorial in November is another. The Cards (11-0) haven't lost a second round playoff game since 1997. 2A’s top scoring offense was on full display in round one, doubling up Hancock County, 56-28.

Should be a shoot out on paper, but l see a Mayfield victory by 20+....no knock on Mclean Co., the Cardinals are just that tuff cone playoffs...

I was just told by someone who lives near Mclean that they read locally that Mclean is predicting they will upset Mayfield.

I dont know if anyone in the area, Mclean fans included, expect Mclean to pull of the upset here. I think a lot of people are just hoping that the Cougars will be able to compete in the game. That would be a huge step for their program. For them to even be able to compete they will have to stay ahead of the chains on the ground and limit big plays. If they fall behind early, it will be a bad recipe. In the Catholic game they competed very well out of the gate defensively but allowed a couple of 4th down conversions that put them behind and effectively ended their hopes.
