The Aces (8-3) were rounding into a strong looking playoff contender before South Warren put an abrupt end to their forward momentum. They regained some of that previous form with a 61 point outburst in the first round. As for Murray (7-4), a win over OCath would be big step forward in their climb back to the top of 2A. These teams have met in the playoffs each year since 2010, with each team winning four games. Owensboro Catholic has taken the last three.

Yes! They are a solid team. I'm not sure if its coaching or what but they have the playmakers to advance. It just seems like it isn't clicking for 4 quarters. They'll give you a tough first half but I'm not to sure on the second half. They didn't score on Mayfield in the second half from my recollection.

I don't like the talk of Mayfield advancing to a game next Friday before they have played the one Friday night this week. That's the kind of mojo that can jack things up.

This is a sneaky game to keep an eye on. I do think Catholic wins it but it wouldnt shock me if its close. Murray has some dudes and outside a meaningless game against South Warren in the final week of the season, its been a while since the Aces have been physically challenged. I will say, i think this is the most complete Owensboro Catholic team in quite some time. They have the potential to come out and put a running clock on Murray. I will be interested to see how this one plays out.
