  1. Seems like a lot smaller list this year (at least to start with).
  2. As I mentioned earlier in the thread...the Superintendent, Current HS Principal, and a member of the Central Office.
  3. A formal offer has not yet been made but they have approached him and to gauge his interest in returning to the sidelines and have expressed their interest in him doing so
  4. Is Model that good of a team or did Dayton just struggle that much in this game?
  5. Not sure on this one, so just asking the question did Owen Hauck win a title at Highlands and Boone Co.?
  6. I know that the Superintendent, current principal, and others in Central Office position have approached him and want him to come back. So they are obviously open to it.
  7. Based on this I think Schmitz would be the perfect guy for this program and the kids AGAIN! Sure, he made a mistake and has paid the price for that. However, during his short time as HC Newport experienced the most success it has had in a long time. He had a great supporting staff and gave the kids the support/tough love they needed, pushed and motivated them to do better in the classroom, and taught them the value of hard work. I have also been told that he worked well with city administrators and other community stakeholders. Many of whom apparently have expressed interest in wanting him back. Plus, I think this can show some of these kids that come from some crazy backgrounds that sometimes a 2nd chance is out there and if you work hard and do things the right way, that 2nd chance is possible.
  8. I agree that Wiggins would be an awesome hire for Newport. However, I think he is set in Alexandria. Program is growing and competitive in 1A. Plus with that new facility they are getting ready to build out there I think he'd be crazy to leave Brossart
  9. I agree that coaching turnover is hurting the program. I think Nick Partin would be a good hire for the program. Schmitz would be a good rehire since he was very successful while there. Would the district consider making Coach McDay (don't know his first name) a head coach. I believe he coaches the Jr. High or Freshman team and from my understanding is loved by the administration and the community
  10. Someone on here (sorry can't remember who or what thread it was under), mentioned that he was back working at Newport in some capacity.
  11. I was equally surprised by the mention of Stoops. I even double checked to make sure Mark was at UK and Bob was at OU, just to make sure I didn't have them backwards.
  12. I've heard/read on a couple of web sites that if Jimbo Fisher bounces to TAMU then Stoop would be on a short list to replace him at FSU. So I'm not sure if the Barnhart/Stoops thing would work at UT.
  13. I haven't seen anything official but I ran into one of the players and said that he is out and will/has announced it at the banquet.
  14. Thanks for the update. I did scroll through a little further and saw the West Carter and Dunbar opening. Looking forward to seeing the Open Jobs thread at end of year. Like to see what coaches are being hired to help a program out and who is leaving to head to their "ideal" job etc. Always hate to see a program lose a coach, but understand that how things go
  15. Is this the first domino to fall in the open jobs category? I haven't seen any other HC jobs open yet. Should with start the traditional Open Jobs/Filled Jobs Thread
  16. After careful calculations and using my advanced mathematical skills taught to me at Morehead the final total is: $1,777.84
  17. I'm picking Campbellsville, Beechwood, Hazard, and Raceland to all win this week!
  18. I agree. Congratulations to your 1-9 regular season team that has now become the new 5-9 State Champions!
  19. He's slowing turning into Oprah.....points to the left "You get a state championship!", points to the middle, "You get a state championship!", points to the right, "You get a state championship!"
