Just got one of those Blackstone 36inch outdoor griddles. Can't wait to get it up, seasoned and cooking. There are tons of videos showing things to cook and how to do it.

TAC, I agree with you. If we go out on Friday or Saturday to eat, it is about 4:00 to beat the crowds. My main rule is I won't wait more that 15 minutes for a table. Going early means no wasted time! On vacation, we go eat midafternoon to beat the crowds and get out of the sun during the heat of the day, then have some leftovers to eat later when we get hungry. Plus, the beach is pretty much our own in the late afternoon! Went to Red Robin for their free burger deal for teachers and the place was woefully understaffed and overcrowded. People were standing outside waiting. When we checked in it was a 40 minute wait. We went over to the bar and asked the bartender if we could order food if we sat at the bar and had some beer. She said yes, so we got some beer and ordered. Our food was to us in 5 minutes! There were tables in the bar area that were never filled while we were there. That was a big scheduling error by the manager for not having the help available that night. It's all about using your time to your advantage, not theirs. I can't understand why people wait 30+ minutes to spend their money at a restaurant unless it's a special occasion.

I was sitting facing north on 17 at the connector (road johnnys toys was on) at the stoplight when the wind hit about 4:00 and have never felt anything like that in a car. I literally thought my pickup was being pushed forward. I know it was straight line winds and not a tornado, but if you've seen videos where people were very close to one when it came through, that's what it looked like. Leaves and things blowing around like crazy, the trees whipping like crazy and the rain going sideways and turning white. Lasted about 5 seconds.

I wonder how all of this plays out with the paychecks of her coworkers on the show including the production staff. Are they somehow protected by wording in their contracts or are they just out with no future pay? If the last is true, could they take her to court for lost wages? ....and will they?

I know that in our district Elementary basketball league, the parents sign a spectator behavior form and at least one needs to attend a meeting where parent behavior is addressed. Parents have been asked to leave and not come back to games!

Think I mentioned this in the last thread about the Florida shootings. I think they could do this if they would be in a less military-looking uniform. Side note...was at the flying pig a couple weeks ago and it felt weird to see SWAT members walking around in full gear with their rifles out.

They probably think they will get a trophy for it....they get one for everything else they participate in. Everyone is a winner and never have to face disappointment. Oh you lost...here is a trophy because you are awesome!

This...and sitting in their room playing shootem up video games where pulling a trigger and watching people fall becomes numb and impersonal.

We stay at Gulf Shores Plantation down by Kiva Dunes. Lots to do for the kids there and obviously nice golf...but expensive. Now one management company runs kiva, peninsula, craft farms and some others. Hard to find nice deals. Also the course at the state park closed and it wasnt a bad course!

Love my Masterbuilt 30 inch digital smoker. Uses wood chips and not pellets. No temp issues top to bottom. Plan to do a couple pork shoulders (3 pounds each roughly) and a turkey breast injected with lemon butter for moms day. Also have a GrillEye bluetooth thermometer with 2 probes (expandable to 6) that does an excellent job.

Wife and I always used to take travelers checks with us on vacation. Now you can hardly find anyone who carries them and the fees are obnoxious. Our bank doesn't carry them anymore.

Was it in the end zone?

So if you get a tag, do you pretty much need to hire a guide who is familiar with the layout of the land and where you can and cannot hunt?

We prefer to hit the beach semi-early in the morning and come in around 11:30 am for a snack and rest. Then we get ready and leave about 3:00 for dinner to beat the crowds. Return to condo and have the rest of the day to enjoy the beach as people filter out. They can go spend time waiting in line to eat while we enjoy a less crowded and cooler beach. Then enjoy some leftovers later or for snack the next day. There are a couple of seafood markets out fort Morgan road who will season and steam shrimp you buy from them on the spot. One close in by the Family Dollar store and another about 13ish miles out on the left with the Behind the Pines restaurant (another good place to eat and definitely not fancy). A lot of fishing charters go out of orange beach and the marina at fort Morgan. There is usually a small booklet you can find at the welcome center and at stores, etc that usually has charter info and phone numbers. You can pay to fish off the dock at the marina also and I think they rent equipment. There are some who fish from the beach in the mornings. I've never done any of that even though I love to fish. What else ya want?

What are you into...family with young kids, teenagers, just 2 of you? Golf, fishing, shopping?......

Love gulf shores. When the children were younger we hit the beach nearly every year...more out in Ft. Morgan. Way less crowded. Love the seafood, esp the original oyster house, docs, tacky jacks, and the steamer.

Taking a week to go to Gettysburg, York, and Lancaster area in PA. A lot of craft breweries and distilleries around to tour along with the typical sights of that area. Unfortunately not making bourbon. Also a side trip to Pottsville to tour Yuengling. Kinda weird that in the Amish area, we are staying in a town named Intercourse.

Who is the hitting coach for the Reds? Why was he not canned last week?
