The “terrible quotes” ads either on tv or radio. I change the station as soon as I hear that music. I can’t even tell you the insurance company they are for.

College football hands down. Especially SEC games. Watching the NFL vs college is almost as bad as watching the NBA over college. I watch (barely) the Bengals, but any other team does not interest me at all.

The old twc remotes (the silver ones) you could program a 30 second skip forward into them and it would do it every time you pushed the button. Excellent for getting rid of commercials and watching football games, as long as they were recorded. If I missed a play, I’d just hit the 15 second skip reverse button. Could watch an entire football game in an hour and see pretty much every play! The new dvr does not allow the 30 second skip...bummer.

Did I read the new deer limits correctly...zone 1 may take 4 deer this season instead of 2? Just 1 antlered as usual.

Went to alexandria brewing last night for brew and 4 mile pig BBQ. Had the wings and they are very good with the bourbon BBQ sauce. Great smoke taste and juicy! Only thing is the wings are very small...easy to eat a dozen and need more. Beer was very good. Had an IPA with an ibv of about 145. They add 90+pounds of honey to it and it really doesn't taste that hoppy.

Most charge now for tours and many take reservations. Buffalo trace and Barton are about the only free tours left. Depending on the tour times, you could do buffalo trace and woodford reserve, plus maybe the new castle and key ($30 per person though and you don't even get to taste their bourbon, just vodka and gin mixed drinks). Make sure all the places you are going are actively distilling if it's this time of year. Many don't in the summer due to the heat, they use the time for maintenance/construction. A really cool tour would be Kentucky cooperage in Lebanon, ky, then limestone branch nearby, then makers mark. Getting to see the barrels being made is eye opening. Wild turkey and four roses are close and good tours. You could maybe get in Wilderness Trail in Danville also. Of course, going to bardstown would give you all kinds of choices. I would not recommend Heaven Hill as you just get to see their rickhouses as they distill in Louisville ( I think) and truck the new make to bardstown to be barreled.

I try to keep it in stock also, but why is it $6 more a case in KY than in OH? I thought OH people come over here for cheaper beer?

We toured the yuengling brewery in Pottsville, pa 2 months ago and it was awesome. They actually brew little there anymore as they have a much newer and larger facility just outside the town. They still use the original because if they didn't, they couldn't claim the oldest operating brewery tag. It is a very interesting place. Ended up meeting dick yuengling himself in the gift shop! They also brew a regular lager and light lager that they only sell in pa. Very tasty!

Reserve the $10 tour and they give you a token good for $10 off your purchase in the gift shop....including their very good high rye bourbon.
