The KABC dues are $160 every year. Those dues include 8 girls coaches and 8 boys coaches. My question is why can 8 coaches for a school vote? Assuming that’s the head coach and 7 assistants. Next year will be rough for sure, but in two or three years, they will be alright. Middle school scores this year in the NKMSAA: Bracken County 20, Dayton 6 Bracken County 34, Ludlow 17 Newport Catholic 36, Bracken County 0 Bracken County 32, Holy Cross 6 Bishop Brossart 36, Bracken County 12 Bracken County 33, Pendleton County (Sharp) 12 Newport 27, Bracken County 13 Don't twist this into me saying this means they will be good in high school. It's just saying they have a decent youth program that is competitive with surrounding schools of similar size.

Yes these are from 2023. I looked up their male enrollment for 2024-25: Sayre: 156 Bishop Brossart: 159

I think Brossart will go up and Sayre will stay. Brossart at 149 boys and Sayre at 127.

It was after the buzzer. However, Madison Central’s horn is about as loud as a nickel in a piggy bank. I don’t fault the officials at all, but it is unfortunate.

I think this would be better than what they have now if they stay in 2A.

The Bishop Brossart, Nicholas County, Paris, and Bracken County district was perfect. They are all in the same basketball region. Bracken would have won that district the last two years. If Bracken is in 1A, I could see Nicholas, Paris, and Sayre together. They didn’t have a JV team last year which worries me, but I think their middle/elementary school programs have steadied to where there won’t be two or three straight winless seasons anymore.

If Bracken County is placed in Class 1A for 2027-2028 it could make it easier to attract a coach.

One school that could be impacted is Bracken County. The Polar Bears are the smallest school in Class 2A for the 2025-2026 seasons. They currently play in a district with Beechwood, Gallatin County, Owen County, St. Henry, and Walton-Verona. Bracken County’s most recent season in Class 1A was 2022, when they were grouped with Bishop Brossart, Nicholas County, and Paris. Bishop Brossart could also be affected by the new multiplier. The Mustangs’ average male enrollment was 149. With the 1.35 multiplier, that number would become 201, which might place them in Class 2A.

He was going to be suspended either way. They have Menifee County, Villa Madonna, Bellevue, and Frankfort coming up. Those aren't easy wins for them either. Bracken hasn't beaten a team with a winning record this year.

Sears is far from acclimated to the pace of varsity basketball after playing his last game 10.5 months ago. I think in four weeks MoCo will be fine. I’m predicting MoCo and GRC will meet two more times this season in the district and regional finals. I think they will split them, just don’t know which.
