  1. Although I have heard that EKU offered several Kentucky high schoolers, I didn't see that they signed any. The bulk of their signees seem to have come from Florida. Does anyone have any insight into why they had a problem signing Kentucky players? How many did they offer? My personal opinion is that you must establish solid recruiting ties in your home state. I'm glad to see UK doing a pretty good job of picking up some of the top players from the state each year. I know Western signed a good number. What's up at EKU?
  2. Jason Leger has done a solid job at UK. Here's hoping that this will be another solid lineman from the Rock!
  3. The idea of the class system is to give schools of similar size the chance to compete against one another. To throw Danville in with Trinity and St. X is to punish them for being an extremely talented school for their enrollment.
  4. I think Mercer County will be a force to be reckoned with. What does Russel have coming back? What about Newport?
  5. That is true. While he had a sensational freshman season up there, he just never enjoyed college life and didn't like being so far away from home. I'm not sure what he's doing now. If anyone knows what he's doing today, I'd like to hear it. I had the privilege of coaching him in high school.
  6. Could this Catholic sweep solidify the case for the seperate playoff for private schools?
  7. Who would have been the public school winner in 4A? Henry Clay?
  8. Yes, but PSW is also not known as a passing team either.
  9. At this point, he will have to win a state championship. The good news is that I think he's a good enough coach to do it. Lots of questions and holes to fill with this year's team though. I wish him the best and hope he finds answers for those things.
  10. Other players I would suggest from teams that Boyle has played this year: # 16 (WR) from Highlands (the one on the opening page of bluegrass preps this week) - He had very good hands and did a good job of adjusting his route and aggressively going after the ball. Cole Draughn from Pulaski County - A 19 year old kid with the body of a 28 year old man. Good mobility for his size. Good competitor. He's what makes Pulaski go. Kelvin Turner and Penix from Danville - Turner is quite possibly the second best RB in the state. His stats aren't overwhelming because he shares carries with Penix. I would put him in the same league with Joe Casey if he added a little more size.
  11. Boyle's Brad Cloud needs to be considered for all-state. He hardly ever leaves the field for the Rebels. He plays TE/WR on offense and catches anything near him. He also runs the ball some for the Rebels. I wish I had his stats for the season, but I am sure they are impressive. He also plays linebacker. He led the team in "big hits" last year as a junior and is on pace to do so again this year. He's a tenacious defensive player. He also is the team's long-snapper and kickoff return man. He has good speed.
  12. Well, it sounds to me like a game that needs to be scheduled for next year in Papa John's stadium in the Charger classic. Fan outcry could help it happen. Boyle's not scared.
  13. Here's hoping that Boyle, Rockcastle, and Seneca all get big wins this weekend. The greatest lessons are learned back in the woods!
