  1. IF that’s the finals, it’ll be a true road game for DCA. The purple and gold will flood it out. I agree with you that Rock is a dangerous runner-up just like Boyle Co. is.
  2. Coach Childress always has the Hawks in the hunt. They lost two key pieces this summer to other schools as well. He’s done a really good job this season.
  3. Massey is very jaded for Somerset and West Jessamine because of Casey Co, Burgin and Trinity Christian games.
  4. Nice write-up! DCA probably won the initial draw. I like West Jessamine matchup against SCS as well. SCS will struggle with the size West Jessamine presents. I think the other openers will be battles between Somerset and Boyle Co., and Southwestern and Rockcastle Co.
  5. I think Mercer will get some applicants. Their teacher salary is very competitive, have an athletic minded Super (former coach) and have created jobs for Coach Yeast and Adkins. They will want to bounce back, and not struggle in the main two sports.
  6. True, and very unrealistic. Coach Jackson isn’t going anywhere. All he knows is ball.
  7. This is the school I was referring to, to cancel out any speculation.
  8. Somerset has averaged 20 wins a season for the last 4 years. I think the expectations are pretty high there.
  9. I'll let it break on its own, but I'm pretty confident in the source.
  10. Hearing a 12th region job is opening soon (maybe even right now). Stay tuned, could create a ripple effect within the region.
  11. Brock Stevens stepped up huge for the Jumpers. He is little in stature, but has a huge heart and smooth shooting stroke from 3!
  12. I was impressed with him when they played @ Somerset a few weeks ago.
  13. I liked the zone. The zone defense was effective and held them to 19 first half points. It was a good strategy against Boyle.
  14. For sure, but to me it's more about how you are playing down the stretch. Lincoln had an atypical 6-9 regional record. Danville was abysmal most of the season after losing Peters to an injury early in the year. Garrard's big wins were over those two teams and an up/down Boyle Co. team. I think injuries played a big part in all those teams being up and down though.
  15. The best two teams in the 45th will meet. The other 3 teams were well below .500 this season. Lincoln (12-17), Garrard (12-19) and Danville (11-14). Lincoln played with a lot of heart, and their zone was very active. DCA switching tempo to start the half, and moving Ateny around was the difference. Also, you can't try to shoot layups over Ateny. It's essentially a turnover that leads to a fastbreak. Awesome Player!
  16. Not sure, didn't watch the matchup. I just thought it was odd. Potentially, you're right and they thought they needed to create tempo to score.
  17. Why did Garrard play zone the whole first half, and the game is tight and come out and play man to man to start 2nd half? Credit to Boyle, playing through a ton of illness and injuries. Big time guts. Garrard appeared tight outside of Caldwell and Noe. Montgomery didn't have his best stuff, and for an all-region guy you need that in big games.
  18. Wheeler has really stepped up for the Rebels. Smooth shooting left handed shot!
  19. The 12th Region Tournament field is set after tonight: Danville Christian, Boyle Co., West Jessamine, East Jessamine, Somerset, Rockcastle Co., Somerset Christian and Southwestern.
  20. Harlan Ind. beating Harlan Co. is a pretty big upset, right? Big time win for the city school.
  21. I believe Coach Jackson has only missed it twice since taking over Lincoln Co. in 2003.
  22. Greg is a great guy, and spent a number of years working with FCA.
  23. Coach Fraley has never missed the regional tournament as head coach of the Maroons.
